Dentist and Pool Time

Last week Jolee was back at Dr. Trinh’soffice to get her 3 cavities filled on her back molars. She was super nervous I almost thought we were gonna have to cancel the appointment and come back another day but she made it through. Dr. Trinh was SO patient and GOOD! He knew she was nervous and saw she was crying a bit and he was so gentle and walked her through the entire process. He took his time and asked her if she was okay atleast a million times. The appointment took about and hour and she was all done. We have to come back two more times for more fillings and she will be all through with the dentist work.
We are getting as much pool time in as we can!
We have been cooking and eating dinner on the back porch.
And staying up late outside making fun memories.

Summertime Happenings

We've been busy lately doing a few things. Justin took Jolee to Austin to Dover Saddlery to get her measured for some boots, pants and a riding helmet. Now she is all set, looking like a real professional.
She has been taking a few lessons this summer but she either has to go early in the morning or later in the evening because it's just so dang hot.
Her riding coach Cassie is going to start teaching her some more advance moves. She is still loving it and enjoys every minute especially when she rides Lenny.
We have been in the pool almost every evening getting our swim and tan on. Jewell has officially taught herself how to swim. She has been in the water since she was about 9 months old. She started with floaties and then this summer is tall enough to stand on her tip toes in our pool, and she swims all over the pool without floaties or holding on. She even dives down to the bottom to get things off the pool floor and does tricks under the water. Definitely no swim lessons for this girl she's a natural pro!
Another thing the girls have taken up is lots of cooking. Jolee has been making dinner for us almost every night. All kinds of dishes. Honey chicken, tacos, crock pot meals and she has done some baking with Grandma Carolyn when she came down to see the girls last weekend.
Grandma Carolyn is doing a lot better too, feeling good.
We've also moved dentists. Jolee has officially graduated from her pediatric dentist. We moved her over to Dr. Trinh here in Salado. He is awesome. So far, we really like him. He is super nice and takes his time and his staff is really nice too. She had to get a few fillings the other day. She was super nervous and cried a little bit but Dr, Trinh walked her through the entire process and was so gentle with her making sure she was okay. I will definitely be moving Jaina, myself and Justin to his office too. And he is affordable too!

Happy Fathers Day

Sunday after we got home from Mimi's house we celebrated Father's Day.
Isn't this a great picture!
The girls gave him a basket full of goodies and 4 red roses.
The girls each made him a sweet card.
There were chocolate cupcakes in his basket, some beer, beef jerky, peanuts, and a little clip-on fan so when he works outside, he will stay cool.
He really enjoyed his gift.
Then we chilled out for the rest of the day.
He said he had a nice Father's Day.

Happy Birthday Girls

While the girls were having fun at Mimi's Justin and I worked and also went out on a few dates. We have not had a chance to really go out on any dates. Funny thing is when the girls were little, we were always looking for a babysitter but now that Jaina is old enough to watch her sisters were hardly ever go out anymore, lol. We are either tired from working, just want to chill at home or it's too expensive these days. But we took advantage and went to Acropolis (our favorite Greek restaurant) and to Texas Roadhouse.

Jewell Facetimed us a few times while she was there to tell us what she was up too. Sounded like she was having a blast with her cousins.
On Saturday Justin and I got up pretty early and headed out to a funeral in San Deigo, Texas. My friend Rosie's grandmother died and used me as their Funeral Director. I promised them I would be there no matter what even if it was a 4 1/2 drive South almost to the border! The service was in a beautiful old catholic church and the service went well. Hard for the family but went well. I can tell you the city of San Diego does not look like San Deigo, CA, LOL. It is a very small town. No dire straits to ever go back but it was fun seeing a part of Texas we have never seen before.
Our next stop was for dinner in Corpus Christi, Texas. We had dinner on the ocean. Fried shrimp with all the fixings. It was hot outside but nice to sit by the ocean for dinner.
We were hot, sweaty and tired. We ended up driving to Mom's house after dinner. We had a 3-hour drive to her house to stay the night. We went the "back way" meaning no cars were on the road. It was a nice quiet drive. We finally got to her house, the girls were excited to see us, we took showers and straight to bed. It was a long day.
The next day as soon as we got up, we loaded up the car and headed home.
While the girls were at Mimi's they also celebrated Saylor and Scarlett's birthday. Scarlett turned 7 and Saylor turned 8. Stephanie and Rhiannon took them to Cosmic Air, an indoor fun park.
Steph said the girls had a blast. Jewell said, Mom it was so fun!
Jolee and Austin went too. Jolee said she got a little bored because it was mostly kiddie things to do there.
Friday night they had the party.
Happy birthday girls! Wish I could have been there to help celebrate
They sang Happy Birthday and opened gifts.
Look how stinkin cute that cake is!!!
I love it!
Looks like everyone had a great weekend!

Blue Bell Homemade Icecream

Last week I met Stephanie in Brenham to drop off the girls. Scarlett and Saylor's birthday party was that weekend and I could not go because I had a funeral to attend In San Diego, TX.

We met at Must Be Heaven Cafe for lunch.

Then we walked downtown taking a few pictures along the way.

On our way to the car, we found this cute little park
In the middle of the park was a huge cistern. The girls got to see it filling up in live action because it had been raining all morning long.
We had to explain to them what a cistern was and how it worked.

water coming out of the pipe and the water pump next to it

.
Our next stop was to Blue Bell Creameries.
Our goal was to make it there before 2pm. Blue Bell no longer gives tours, but you can go up to the top floor and observe the factory workers and see how the ice cream is being made.
So, we hurried upstairs before they closed at 2pm. No cameras allowed upstairs. We spent a good 10 minutes or so observing.
Then we went to the museum to look around
And to get our paper hats!

Then off to get our $1 scoops of ice cream
Yum!
Cotton candy for Jewell and Jolee, and chocolate for Jaina

Even the blue man came along to Blue Bell

We have visited Blue Bell several times over the years, and I have been coming here since I was a little girl
It's always fun and makes good memories
But it was Saylor's first time here

We had a good time!
After Blue Bell the girls hopped in the car with Saylor and Steph and off to Mimi's house they went.
