November Randoms

I can't believe November is almost over! Actually I can't believe this year is almost over.
Here are a couple random pics from the last week or so.
The two shelves to the left are the ones I got when I went to the Fredericksburg trade days. Now I need to fill them up with!
About a week or so ago we all went to eat with the Dildine's. Here Kynlee and Jolee having a blast at dinner
She's such a mess with her new "take a selfie" throwing up her peace sign, haha!
Are before Thanksgiving Jaina brought home her 9 week report card. I report the actual report CARDS we use to get in school that was handwritten in pen/pencil. Now it's done a computer like everything else. But I'm happy to see she's doing good in all her classes. She says math is the hardest. I agree.
Jolee is a mess!
Oh excuse the mess on my couch
And here is a couple things Jaina has been doing in school that she brought home before Thanksgiving break.

CTSVC Wreath Laying

Saturday I had to take the girls with me to work because our babysitter had a family emergency. We were pretty slow at work so I went ahead and took them. That morning happened to be the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery wreath laying project.
The funeral home I work for is right down the road from Fort Hood. 90% of our funerals are military services. We have services out at this cemetery daily. One of the ladies that work for us also volunteers at the cemetery and invited me to attend their annual laying of the wreaths on the graves of all the Veterans.
My uncle and I attended last year and almost froze to death and this year I was working so I wasn't for sure if I would get to go but it turned out to be the perfect day to attend.
Don't yall love that American themed Christmas tree! And the little girls standing in front of it :)
Here is Brenda and Jolee. She is the one that works with me and also volunteers at the cemetery. Her husband is laid to rest out there.
The wreath project is held every year after Thanksgiving. The cemetery gets a wreath for every Veteran that is laid to rest at the cemetery. They invite every family who has someone laid to rest to come out and lay a wreath on their grave. The wreath stays until January.
There is a little short ceremony and then you go get a pin and wreath. My uncle (dad's brother) is laid to rest out there so the girls got to lay a wreath on his grave. Here is Jolee sticking the pin in
Then Jaina laid the wreath
I thought it was a great experience for the girls
There is 6500 Vets laid to rest out at the cemetery
Sarah my office manager met us out there to help

Thanksgiving at Home

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Did yall have a good Thanksgiving?!
We did!
This year we kept it low key. Both Justin and I only had Thanksgiving Day off and neither one of us felt like driving 4 hours to Houston or Wichita to eat and then drive back the same day. So we decided to stay home as a family and have Thanksgiving. We invited my uncle to come part take in our feast. The girls were so excited to see him!
I tried to keep it simple and make just a few side dishes. Alot of the traditional food Justin nor the girl will eat it so I worked around what they would eat. I made a banana cream cheesecake pie and homemade pumpkin roll the night before and then on Thursday I got up and immediately started cooking. Jolee helped me crush the corn flakes
And Jaina helped me set out my real fine china set
At 1:00 dinner was ready. I will have to pat myself on the back because that was my first ever ham and turkey and I made both and they both tasted awesome. My uncle brought the stuffing and gravy. I was very thankful for that because I have no clue how to make stuffing and Justin loves stuffing.
Then it was time to pray and dig into our feast
Waaaaaaay to many carbs but hey it was good!
The girls ate it up!
My little turkey girls
The weather was so nice so after dinner we took the girls to the park
They played
And had a ball letting Uncle Allie chase them.
Then we walked down to the creek to skip rocks
We stayed for a while and enjoyed the evening
Then we drove around town and spotted some Thanksgiving decor to take the girls pictures in front of
We finally made it back to the house to enjoy more left overs that evening
Hope everyone had a fun and safe Thanksgiving

Walk Way of Lights

After we left Fredericksburg we met back up with my uncle at the Blue Bonnet cafe in Marble Falls for a piece of peanut butter pie and a cold glass of milk.
Yum!
It was good!
Then we decided to go to the Walk Way of Lights located on the river in Marble Falls
It's pretty cool.
Justin and I went a few years ago when we had an over night getaway here
The trail takes about 20 minutes to walk through
We even saw Santa there!
Jaina was excited to told Santa what she wanted for Christmas
Then a quick picture in Santa's sleigh
We had a great time. It was nice to get away and have a whole day of fun activities to do. We will be planning our next day away soon!

Fredericksburg Trade Days

Last Saturday Jaina and I had a girls day.
Leah and I had originally planned to go to the Fredericksburg Trade Days. But then at the last minute she cancelled so then Justin and the girls were gonna go. So we were gonna make a family trip out of it but at the last minute Justin decided he didnt want to go either so Jolee stayed home with Justin while Jaina went with me.
We got up early Saturday morning and headed out
It's about a 2:30 hour trip away from us. It was a nice cool morning, perfect weather to go shopping
We finally made it!
This market is alot smaller then Canton. About 200 vendors and about 6 barns. Mostly antique's. I got a little decorated can and I found two shelves that go perfect in my kitchen so I was super pumped
As we were driving to Fredericksburg my uncle called and I asked him if he wanted to meet us down there so he did. Jaina was excited to see him
We had a great time just looking around at everything
They even had a creepy doll place, and let me tell ya it was pretty sick and creepy. Jaina did not like it!
We shopped for about 3 hours and then we took Jaina out to Luckenbach. A short 10 minute drive.
We walked around the store and then headed into Fredericksburg.

We shopped on the main drag in Fredericksburg. We went to all my usual spots like the Christmas store and the 5 and dime store
I had told Jaina if she was good and enjoyed the day with out complaining then I would buy her something. She immediately spotted the Douglas stuffed animals. She wanted to get her stuffed animal Cuddles a girlfriend :)
Then we went to Mamacitas for dinner. Yum! It was sooooo good!
