Wichita Bound

This weekend we took a quick trip to Wichita for the night. We left Saturday morning when Justin got off work. Jaina rode pretty good, entertained herself and took a few naps along the way.

When we got there she immediately explored Pops and Granny's house and found some toys she wanted to play with. See that dog carrier? She played with that thing non-stop the whole time we were there and enjoyed every minute of it. She even got in it a couple of times and zipped herself up in it. Ha!
We walked over to Aunt Susan and Uncle Larry's house. She wanted to swing in their new swing set but it didn't last to long cause it was SO dang outside. Justin and I couldn't get over how dry everything was! And the hot dry air was killing me! Granny asked me if I would rather have humid wet hot air or dry hot wind. I told her I would take humid wet hot air any day over dry hot wind! It was awful. I guess growing up in Houston next to the coast you get use to the humidity.
We headed back to Pops' house so Jaina could play with Daisy and Granny for awhile Then Pops took Jaina out in the front to swing and eat cookies!
Later we headed out for dinner

We ate at Pioneer. We had their famous enchiladas which were so good but I felt so miserable afterwards, lol. Then we headed back and hung out at Uncle Larry's for the rest of the night while Jaina stayed at Granny's and watched old Shirley Temple movies.
Today we headed back home. We made a pit stop along the way at this Cowboy shop and looked around for a while. Jaina found a rocking chair that was just her size.
And a saddle! She loved them but they were just a little to pricey for our pocket book, if you know what I mean!
Then daddy and Jaina took their picture by the "World's largest cedar rocker"
We stopped in Hico to eat at the Koffee Kup. I saw in Texas Highway Magazine that they were suppose to have THE best pie ever! So we got the "Doctor's Office" pie. It was cream cheese and custard with pecans and coconut. It was too good but I'm glad we all shared a piece together because Lord knows I do not need all those calories, lol! We finally made it home around 8 and are winding down from this weekend.

Lions Junction

Today was the first day of the summer that I could truly relax and take my baby out for a day of fun!

First we headed up to the mall so I could return some stuff and then had lunch.

Our mall isn't that big and I hate to say it but there's not a whole lot of selection either. But they do have a kids playground in the middle of it that Jaina asks to play on every time we go and we finally had time for her to play. She had alot of fun playing with the other kids and didn't want to to go.

Then we headed to the fire station at her request because she wanted to see her daddy in the big red fire truck. After a short visit we ran a couple more errands.

Then we headed to Lions Junction Family Water Park. I have been eyeing this place for a while but wasn't so sure about it. We were going to head home but I decided to stop by and see what it was all about. The water park is geared towards small toddler children. Its only about 3 feet deep but they do have a lazy river for the older children and big slides for them as well and children 2 and under get in free. So I believe we will be coming back alot more before summer is over!

She had a BLAST!!!! And I had fun watching her and swimming with her. She was SO excited that I got in with her to play. She always wants me to get in with her at the house, which I do sometimes but there's just not a whole lot of room. We had plenty of room today!
The park had all kinds of different water things for the kids. There was a huge bucket up high on this platform and every so often it would start to ding like a rail road crossing and then all of a sudden dump water down. Jaina would scream every time it went down, lol.

We got there at 5 and left at 7 and let me tell ya, both me and her were wore out!

They had this choo choo train slide which at first I was nervous for her to climb up and I was helping her and then she saw some older girls doing it by themselves so then she had to do it by herself with out mommy's help.

I watched her go down the slide at least 5o times. No kidding. She did it over and over and over and had fun the whole time.

Then it was time to go. 2 hours was enough!! She even said she was ready to go, Ha!
After the water park I knew she was probably starving so we ran by McDonald's so she could get a Happy meal. After a full belly and a day full of fun this kid outta sleep good tonight!

An Eventful Day

I am SO glad I made it through this week. For a moment there I really didn't think I was going to. I have been in a foul mood the last day or two stressing to get all my work and finals done. I have no idea why I have been stressing either. I guess because it's summer and when it's summer your not suppose to really be in school. Plus it's 8 weeks shorter then a regular semester and it would have helped to have had a business law teacher that wasn't so hard. And did I mention when you go to school the third time around with a husband and 2 year old it's even harder!!! But I finished my last test this morning and was relieved that it was all over.

I now feel, that my summer has actually started and I can relax and enjoy it.

I took Jaina out to the pool to swim since she was cooped up in the house this morning and look what we found.....a huge bull frog. Ekkkkk! I screamed so loud I think people down at the end of our street heard me. uhhhhh nasty thing! I had to call my maintence man (Justin) to get it out. Every time she swims I dump the old water out, scrub her pool down and put fresh water back in, seems like a lot but I don't want her swimming in a dirty pool especially after a frogs been in it. YUCK!!

We got it all cleaned up and she was ready to swim and play. She learned two new things today in the pool. First she was going to town splashing her legs and leaning back

and she will hold her nose and try to dunk her head under the water. Here she is doing it but she wouldn't turn around so I got the back of her

She also decided to name her floaty "Moo Moo Rhino", haha. So cute! After a long swim we got changed and decided to make some Jello.
Most of the time she has eaten it out of the snack cups but this time we actually made some. I dont think she understood the concept because she kept asking if she could eat some and I kept trying to tell her that we had to wait 3 hours for it to cool down. I also started my "spring cleaning" this afternoon. As you may know from last summer I usually take a couple of days and "deep" clean every room in our house. It just makes it feel better in the house and Lord knows I've neglected this house while I have been in school this summer.
And totally off the subject but you know I like to post about new things I find and like and this would be one of them. It looks deceiving but its not! It tastes like a mix between ranch and caesar dressing. Not bad, I like it! (and look who snuck in the picture)

It's Over

My term paper is finally done. I am so glad and relieved! I started working on it last week and have been stressing about it all semester long. I finished it last night but my uncle came over and spent half the day reviewing my paper for mistakes. I would consider myself a pretty good writer when it comes to papers but I am the worlds worst grammar and spell checker. Thanks to my dyslexia I can look at a paper I have wrote a million times and not see one mistake in it but if I get someone else to review it they will catch a ton of mistakes. (I'm sure yall have caught a ton in my blogs too) But anyways we got it done and I emailed it to my professor today and I no longer have to worry about it. Yippee! After editing all day we were starving so we headed to Harker Heights for a bite to eat at Cheddars and then headed to the mall. Now were back home and am studying for my last two tests.

Here are some random pictures from my iphone from this past month.

Here is Jaina at the McDonald's play ground one morning after we had breakfast. I remember before I got married and had a child I vowed to myself I would never let my child play on those dirty playgrounds in fast food restaurants. I use to see kids with grease on their hands running back and forth from their food to the playground and their mothers not caring and thinking how disgusting that was. And yet I caved and let her play on those dirty play yards. But I do make her eat all her food before she plays and I make sure she washes her hands thoroughly after she gets done playing. What is a parent to do?

I thought this was hilarious. One morning we were out on the front porch playing and all of a sudden she put this ball up her dress and said "look mommy, I havin a baby". Ha! Now, what I want to know is how she figured that out! Too smart for her own britches!!!!

Sometimes

Sometimes Jaina gets in these moods that are out of this world! When she doesn't take a nap during the day (which is most days) I try as hard as I can to keep her up until 8:30. If I lay her down before that she will wake up about 11 and then want to stay up all night. That's happen on several occasions and its not fun. Yesterday she was in one of her moods, tired by 7, beyond cranky and crying over everything. Justin and I tried entertaining her but it just wasn't working.

She has been talking about Mr. Bubbles lately, not sure where she heard that from but she's been asking to take a bath with Mr. Bubbles. I have been really really hesitant because since I was little I have had really bad uti's and don't want her to get sick but last night I gave in and gave her a bubble bath.

She enjoyed the bubbles but since she was so overly tired she cried the whole time. It was a short lived bath and was washed up and out of the bath within 5 minutes.

She cried for daddy to put powder on her. It was so cute because he has been reading this story to her that has a little boy in it who takes a bath and then puts powder on. She got her book, pointed out the little boy and told daddy to "do that". Here he is rubbing powder on her, lol. After we got her in bed she was out in about 2 minutes and slept the whole night, never waking up. On another note I would like to say this stuff is AWESOME!! No lie!! Jaina wore a white outfit the other day to my friends baby shower and we stopped for snow cones on the way home and she got dark red juice all over her white outfit. Normally I scrub dawn dish on her clothes which works really well but that tends to get messy so I dropped one of these in her pile of clothes and not one stain was on any of her clothes!!!! I was SO excited!! I am totally hooked! These bags are kinda expensive about 7-8 dollars a bag but well worth it and if you are a couponer like me and get them on sale you can get these for around 1-3 and bag, even a better deal!

Sunday

Jaina likes to pick these up in the yard and put them in her sand box. Every time she finds one she says " Look mom it's a coconut" lol! She also has been saying "its as good as new" alot lately, tonight in the car she said "mom, I have to tell you something, my car seat is not wet, its as good as new" ha! I have no idea where she gets this stuff from. We had round 2 of the pool today. I was on major look out for wasps and bees. I did not want her to get bitten again. Justin brought me some wasp spray and I had my trusty ol' fly swatter with me so I was ready for action!
But luckily there was none flying by her in the pool today.

I did home work for most of the day and had nothing prepared for supper so we decided to go out as a family for dinner.
We headed to Texas Road House. Justin and I both agree they have the best ribs around. Jaina behaved so well at dinner and ate really good too.

I also want to add that she is no longer going potty in her potty chair. Since she came back from Tennessee she has only used the big potty. She hardly has any accidents anymore and has not wet her bed either. She even came and woke me up at 2am the other morning to tell me she had to go potty. I am SO proud of her. It has been a LONG potty process but we are home free now!!!

It's Twins!

Today we attended my good friend Rosie's baby shower for her TWINS!!! I thought she looked too cute today in her dress and looks good for having twins. Last time I saw her she was barely showing. Here she is at 31 weeks. Just a couple more to go!!

She is having one boy and one girl. Harper and Hunter! She had a jungle theme shower and a jungle theme cake. Isn't her cake adorable!
Jaina was WAY to excited to see Rosie's daughter Lilly. Jaina talked about seeing her for 3 days, lol.I can not imagine having twins. That's twice the feedings, twice the pooping and twice the trouble, lol!!! But you never know what God will put on your plate. I always have to take a moment and think that God never puts too much on your plate that you can't handle or manage and I know she will be a GREAT mother to her twins!
Jaina had a blast playing in the church playroom with Lilly and the other kids while we played shower games and watched Rosie open her gifts.
After the shower we ran a couple errands and headed to the fire station to see Justin. Now we're home and relaxing

Big Sting

This morning we headed to the park for a bit before it got to hot outside

She had a fun time but didn't want to stay to long. We had to run by the grocery store as well to get Justin some oranges, milk and whip cream, haha. He has been sick the last couple of days and was feeling terrible this morning. When I got back home I asked him what the whip cream was for and he said he had to blend it in his shake in order to eat the oranges, lol, such a baby!!!

After lunch I filled Jaina's pool up so she could swim. It was such a nice day, the weather wasn't too hot and there was a nice breeze. We were both really enjoying it.

Justin moved her pool back out in the yard and surprisingly I only saw one wasp this time. I didn't think anything of it and thought if we just minded our own business it would just leave us alone, and it did for a while

but I was wrong because all of a sudden I heard Jaina scream really loud saying "Oh a bug, it stings, it stings". I see a wasp fly off and I immediately pick up her and run her inside to Justin. It scared me because this was the first time she has ever been bitten and I wasn't sure if she was allergic to them or not. My uncle is HIGHLY allergic to any kind of bee sting so I panicked a little but luckily Justin was home and he assessed the problem. He said not to worry, if her arm or face starts to swell we will take her to the clinic right down the road. But everything turned out ok. She had a little sting mark where we doctored it up with an ice pack and medicine. I laid her down and hours lately she is still fine. I am so thankful that she is not allergic to them but I wish I would have gotten stung again instead of her. I felt so bad for her :( We took it easy the rest of the day and relaxed inside!
