Game Day weekend

Saturday morning Jaina had a game. It was pretty cloudy but never rained. She wasn't really into playing, she said it was way too early to play soccer, lol.
Justin missed the game cause he had to work. My uncle met us up there to watch herplay. Jolee was a little wild this time around. She wanted out of the stroller and wanted to walk all over the field. I finally gave her some crackers and she sat and watched her sister play
This is normally how she looks out on the field. The last one running, looking back at the crowd and smiling. Lol
I told her this time if she scored a goal she could play Angry Birds all day if she wanted to. She got excited about it but didn't make a goal. I think they ended up loosing but no one keeps score since they are so little.
After soccer the girls played in the sand box. This summer I used the turtle as a swimming pool for Jolee and now since its a little cooler outside I put sand back in the box. Did yall know Wal-mart now sells, pink, green and blue sand!!! So cool I'm defiantly getting the girls some of that next spring.
This was the first time Jolee has got to use the sand box and feel what the sand was like. She didn't care at all that she was dirty and played in it. I have a feeling this one will be more of a "tom boy" compared to Jaina who squeals at any bug or when dirt gets on her
This morning the girls and I went to church. It felt great to be back in church. We slacked on going this summer because of the change in schedule but its back to normal so now we can make it on time.
Jaina's MDO teacher goes to First Baptist and went in to surprise Jaina in her Sunday School class. today
Tonight when I got through brushing Jaina's teeth she said "mommy, you are the very best best best mommy in the whole wide world".
Awww it melted my heart to hear her say that :)
Staying home with my girls is so worth it because I will NEVER get this time back and its critical at these ages to be with my girls. I love it.
The last two days Jolee has done NOTHING but scream. I walk away from her she screams, I put her down she screams, she sees me give Jaina something she screams. And its ear piercing! I started to think that maybe something is wrong with her but everybody keeps telling me that its just her personality......Lord help me, lol
Here is an update on my plants. All my plants are so pretty and green this year. We've gotten so much rain this summer that they are loving it. Usually by this time of year they have all dried up and died. We even keep our grass this year too!
(Yes my man face on the side there is hanging sideways.)
My Hibiscus was leaning and sagging over so I tied it up with this metal rod I found and it work.
Justin's mom gave me this pomegranate bush and I actually kept it alive!
And its getting big
Here are my climbing vines
And I also planted this Passion fruit bush his mother gave me as well. It rained off and on this weekend so it was the perfect time to get it potted
And I potted this. Not sure what it is though lol
My overflowing smell-good lavender
flowers I potted this past spring that even made it through summer
A rose bush my parents gave me
And still going strong my Begonia
Today  was in the 70's for most of the day!
I loved it!
It now truly feels like fall!

Mid-week

This week has been pretty low key. We've been around the house.
Jaina had MDO yesterday and had her teacher to call me to come and pick her up early from school. Her teacher said a kid bumped into her lip and it started bleeding and she had a melt down and started crying. Luckily it was at the end of the day and she was calmed down by the time we got there.
I'm sooooo glad we put her in MDO. It was such a better choice then daycare. Though I did like her daycare, MDO teaches her like she actually in school, they have P.E., circle time and even chapel every day. I love her teacher Mrs. Lori. She's super nice and always explains what the kids are learning and how Jaina is doing. I kinda get the impression that Jaina might be her favorite student :)
She also had soccer practice and team pictures yesterday evening. They decided on a team name, they are the TIGERS!
I think she looks soooooo cute in this picture :)
Jolee had a 101-102  temp early in the week but luckily only lasted two days. She's back to herself today (still screaming and crying like usual, lol). I have figured out some of the noises she is making. She likes to yell and say Jaina when she sees her but it comes out like "naina". I've also noticed in the last week that now when I try and put her down she will arch her back and then go limp so now I have to just lay her on the ground to put her down, lol. I told Justin tonight to embraced himself for when turns 2 because its gonna be bad! LOL

Counter opposites

Boy I'll tell ya if these two kids are complete opposite. If one doesn't like something then the other one does. One's quiet, one's loud, one's sleeping, one's awake, you get the point. I got Jaina's old rocking horse down the other day thinking Jolee is probably big enough to ride it. Plus I need it for Jaina's birthday party. Jaina was so excited to see it again, she just had to ride on it

I was thinking Jolee would love it too but I was wrong, she HATED it! Lol
Guess she's just not ready or big enough to ride on it,
so its no fun
Jolee is such a needy baby. Completely different then how Jaina was. Jaina was just so content when she was a baby but this girl, I swear if I move two inches away from her she screams or wants me to hold her ALL day. I guess in a way I've created her to be that way because she is with me 24/7 and when Jaina was a baby I was working 24/7. So I guess you give and take.
This girl loves horses. I wish we lived on some land big enough to have a horse or riding pony for her. At one point I thought about giving her riding lessons and even getting her involved in barrel racing because she probably would be really good at it but haven't acted on the idea yet.
She also LOVES Halloween which happens to be my favorite holiday as well. I love seeing all the little kids dressed up, getting candy and going trick or treating.
I got my Halloween stuff down the other day and stuck my fall stuff outside and then in October I will switch it up and put Halloween out front.
Jaina insists on being a witch....a scary witch. I've tried talking her out of it and telling her she should be a nice witch but it hasn't worked. At first she wanted to be a "cops girl", then she wanted to be a fairy, Angel, tooth fairy and then finally decided to be a scary witch. I remember when I was little wanting to be scary characters too but ending up being a cat one year, giant pumpkin, Angel and witch, oh and a giant red crayon for Senior year Halloween party, lol.
Jolee has been feeling alittle under the weather the last two days. She has been running a low grade fever. She has no other symptoms besides the fever. We have been giving her Tylenol and watching her. She was around a little baby last week who's mother said her baby was fighting the same thing so I'm assuming she caught it from him. Its hard being a parent when your child is sick. You feel helpless. The clinic tells you NOT to bring your child in unless its over 103 or the child has green snot so its pointless. Its hard to make those decisions knowing that they will just send you home. She rested on me almost all morning and tonight.
We got out of the house for a little bit to see if it would make Jolee feel better so we headed to Walmart to pick up some pedilyte and some sand. Jaina was begging me to get some sand for the sand box. When we got home she immediately wanted to go play in the sand which lasted about 15 minutes because the mosquito's are so bad right now.

First Tooth Fairy visit

This morning Jaina had her dentist appointment. We had to be there early at 730. We got there a little before they opened so we sat in the car and I explained to her that they were going to take her tooth out. She seemed okay about it and then asked if the tooth fairy was going to come and visit her. I had TOTALLY forgotten about the Tooth Fairy. I wasn't even thinking about that when she said something. Normally you don't think about the tooth fairy until they start loosing their baby teeth around 6-7 years old.
But of course I said yes! Yes the tooth fairy was going to come and visit her tonight. I got her all pumped up about it and then she was excited to get her tooth out.
They called her back and got her ready and then told me I could wait in the lobby. Justin was going to take her but then backed out cause he said he couldn't handle it. I wasn't nervous for her at all. I had tons of work done on my teeth as a child so I knew she would be okay.
After about an hour she was all done. She was a little woozy from the medicine and it messed up her stomach and then she throw up in the lobby. I felt sooooooo sorry for her. We got in the car and headed home. She was okay by the time we got home. She laid in the bed and watched a movie.
Justin watched the girls for me this afternoon so I could go to my dentist appointment. I was still having issues from my Thursday appointment and sure enough they had not cured the filling down all the way. He melted the material down a little bit and said that should fix the problem.
I then ran by the store to get a couple things for the "Tooth Fairy" tonight.
Here is her tooth. Its upside down in the box. I remember getting those same treasure chest boxes sent home with my teeth when I was little. She liked the box and she liked looking at her tooth too. She now has a spacer in place of where the molar was. When she does get her 2 set of molars, around 8-9 years old the molar should just pop into place of the spacer. It didn't seem to bother her. I had a spacer in my mouth too when I was little so I know what its like.
I love making my girls feel special with each big step they take. Getting a tooth pulled is a big deal so I decided to make her a tooth fairy pillow. It was last minute so its not that great but it worked and she liked it
I made it out of felt, put a tooth on the front and a pocket for her tooth on the back.

She was excited to go to bed tonight. She wanted me to explain to her about the tooth fairy so I did. I told her that she lives in a Forrest and flies with wings. I told her that she normally leaves money in exchange of a tooth but since she was so brave and had to go to the dentist to actually get it pulled she would get something extra special.
I was in debate of whether to just leave money or buy a gift. I figured since she's so young and has no concept of what money really is that I would get her a toy.
A barbie fairy :)
I also gave her a dollar and got some "fairy dust"
She was fast asleep tonight. I took her tooth and placed the dollar in her tooth fairy pillow. Then I sprinkled some pink "fairy Dust" on her window seal and then left the barbie for her to find in the morning.
I'm glad today is over and hope this will be the last of her dental issues, at least for a while anyways.

Low key day

Yesterday afternoon Justin took the girls to his mom's for dinner and to stay the night. I was suppose to go with them but in all honesty I desperately needed some much needed time to myself. Even if its a couple hours of silent, I'll take it. Don't get me wrong I love my children and husband but we don't live around much family and I am always with my girls. Space is a good thing from time to time.
I was suppose to utilize my alone time by studying but hey, who wants to study when they have the house to themselves!!!
This morning Justin had to work so I woke up to a silent house, I think this has been the first time in atleast a year since Jolee has been born. Most of the time if one child is gone then we have the other child and if both children our gone I have my big child :)
I won't lie it was kinda nice, felt like I was back in my single days waking up super late, enjoying some coffee outside and relaxing.
Then reality struck when I pulled up at grandma's house. It felt awesome to have my children screaming with excitement when I walked in! Both girls were ready to go when I picked them up. They both fell fast asleep tonight and are tucked away in bed at home.
(and yes I desperately need a much needed pedicure)
On a different note, Jaina's party supplies arrived yesterday! She wanted to have a pony party for her 5th birthday so the planning has began!

Fall Weather

This morning when we woke up it felt like a perfect fall day. It was 64 degrees outside! It felt awesome!
Fall is me favorite time of year, I LOVE the crisp fall air, smells and everything about it and it puts me in a great mood. Though it warmed up to about 94 it still made for a great morning to do some things outside.
I've been wanting to hang on to summer just a little longer but I don't like to go out in Texas summer weather and sweat to death. This morning I was able to check on my plants, move some things around and let the girls enjoy themselves for a while. We also kept the windows open all day without breaking a sweat.
Yesterday it rained all day so Jaina's soccer game was canceled which was okay because I really didn't feel like going and it didn't seem to bother her either.
This little girl enjoyed playing with her toys outside even though they were wet from yesterday.
This afternoon I moved Jolee's changing table out and moved Jaina's dresser in her room.
I have come to conclusions that the girls will be sharing a room and Jaina's room will become the play room. Jaina refuses to sleep in her room which is fine. I like having both girls in one room anyways. When they decide enough is enough they will want to be separated. I shared a room with my sister all the way until we graduated high school and we never complained about it.
Here is what the changing table before
And here is the dresser.
Yes, Jolee still needs a changing station so this worked out perfect. And I actually like it better closed in then the open changing table.
I plan on moving toys and clothes around this week and we will be moving Jaina's bed in here as well. I'm gonna leave the room blue and probably just buy some new drapes cause I need them desperately in here!
I'm still having horrible pains from my filling since Thursday. It feels like a thousand needles are poking me at one time for a split second and then it follows with throbbing pain in my mouth along with a horrible headache. I don't think that is normal..... I've had tons of work done on my teeth including a root canal and I never remember having pain AFTER the procedure. I've called the dentist twice this weekend and he seems to think this is normal so I guess I'll leave it up to him. But if it doesn't correct itself by Monday I will be going in.

Here is some of this weeks art work from MDO.
Making lines
Big and little lines
And tracing lines

Learning curve

Since Jaina has been in MDO she has been learning her shapes, how to draw lines and trace. Her teacher said they will not start learning to write their ABC's until they master these skills first.
I've been wanting to teach Jaina at home for a while now but kinda felt lost as to what she should and shouldn't know. This now gives me an idea of what I can be teaching her at home during the week.
Since it rained all day and her sister napped for most of the day it was a perfect time to "teach" her. She got to trace shapes and we went over the different types of shapes. We did this until she got bored with it and then I taught her about manners. This morning I she was eating breakfast and I told her to make sure and use her manners. Then she asked me what manners were. So we went over what manners were and then I allowed her to come up with some of her own manners. She also happens to have a book about manners so I read that to her and then let her watch a small video on manners as well. It was funny because Justin was saying something inappropriate this evening and she said "daddy, your not using your manners" LOL
I always feel like she should know way more then she does at this age. I always felt guilty for taking her out of daycare because she forget alot of the things they taught her to give her a learning curve for school. I guess now is never too late. And the good thing is she's at that age that she WANTS to learn. Hopefully that attitude will stay with her and she will make straight A's in school!

Wasn't so bad after all

Today I had my dreaded dentist appointment. Ugh have I told you how much I loathe the dentist?! I will admit today's appointment wasn't so bad after all. I had to get one small cavity filled on my back upper molar. Considering I haven't had any dental work done besides teeth cleanings in the last 15 years is pretty good.
I won't lie I was anxious and a little panicked when I first sat down. They numbed my mouth and gave me two shots in my gums that was not pleasant at all. Then I had to wait about 15 minutes for it all to kick in. I was dreading those 15 minutes and wishing I would have never came to the dentist in the first place. Then the dentist came in and like magic it was over in I swear 5 minutes. It took no time at all and was a breeze! The only thing bad about the whole situation was the smell! Ughhh it smelt like burning hair when he was drilling in my tooth. Gag!
Then the rest of the day my mouth looked like this, lol. I had lots of errands to run and if I smiled or talked my mouth looked like this. It looked like I had had a stroke and when I did talk people were looking at me funny.
The numbness finally went down after dinner tonight.
I'm beyond glad that's over with. Now I have to look forward to my oral surgeon appointment. ugh
Love this sleeping beauty more then life itself
Along with this sleeping beauty.

Busy week for us

Jaina has this crazy weird obsession for my sister Jennifer's fiance Shannon. She constantly talks about him and says he's her boyfriend and husband haha. When I told her that Aunt Jenny and Shannon were getting married she was not happy! Lol
She likes to play "wedding".
I told my sister "oh you know this is all going to be so embarrassing and awkward when she's about 13 lol
Yesterday we stayed the night out at my uncle's house. Justin is still working on a lighting job close to where he lives so we met him out there after he was does.
We played kick ball and Jolee got to swing like a big girl
We even dressed up in my granny's wig, lol
Jolee LOVES things that have wheels and she can push around. She loves this cart my granny has. She pushes it all over the house.
Jaina insisted on bringing her tent and sleeping bag with her this time. She swore she was gonna to sleep in the tent. I think she lasted about 2 seconds in it once I turned the lights out, lol. But the cats sure did love it
This morning Jaina had a dentist appointment. She was complaining last week about having a "bubble" on her gums. So I made her an appointment.
Wow is all I can say! She has 3 cavities and has to have one molar removed!!!
What!?!?!?!
I asked the doctor what we were doing wrong. I told him we make her brush her teeth twice a day and floss at night. He then asked if I actually brushed her teeth for her, which I said no, I just watch her. He said its a good idea to let her brush them and then I brush them for her until she's at least 8!
He said that just because she brushed them doesn't mean she's getting them clean. And once they get an infection it spreads quickly and it spreads to the surrounding teeth around the infection and that's exactly what happened.
I felt like the worst parent ever!!!
She got a teeth cleaning, xrays and a fluoride treatment today. She will go next Tuesday to get all her work down. I will pray that everything goes smoothly.
