Grandma's girl
Yesterday I took Jaina to the St. Joesph Halloween carnival. They had it a little early this year which was great because she missed it last year. Jolee was a little fussy yesterday so Dorothy stayed home with Jolee while I took Jaina.
Jaina really wanted to be a scary witch this year so I put together this costume for her. We skipped the green paint and will do that on Halloween night.
It was funny because as we were driving to the carnival she asked me "mom, what do witches do". I told her we would watch the Wizard of Oz when we got home so she can see what witches do!
The carnival was small but enough for her to have fun. She got to go "fishing" a couple times for some goody bags full of candy
She "picked a duck" a couple of times for more candy and did the cake walk a few times
She decorated a cookie
and took a break to eat it
Then she got to decorate a small pumpkin with some stickers
She did an awesome job!
Then I decided to take her into the haunted house. She was very excited......at first.
When she was 3 my uncle and I took her to the same haunted house and it was just a guy with a flash light telling a story about his haunted book store which was NOT scary at all. When I gave the women our tickets she asked "are you sure she is old enough to walk through the haunted house, its pretty scary". I said "oh yeah we've been before and she will do just fine". Well....
Let me tell ya it scared me! We went in and it was dark with music playing, the props were really cool and they had an old lady as a witch and a boy with a hammer. Not too scary but then all of a sudden a guy came out from behind the door with a chain saw and fired it up right next to Jaina. I seriously thought she peed on the floor she screamed SO loud and started crying!! She said "make it stop! I want to go home mommy!
Oh my Lord I felt like the worlds worst mom taking her into a haunted house being so little, what was I thinking!! Lol
We walked through the rest of the house which the lady giving us the tour told the rest of the workers to go easy on her, thank goodness!
When we got back outside she was still trembling and her heart was pounding.
Poor baby will have nightmares for the rest of her life, lol.
She got her face painted before we went home. Lol she was telling that girl painting her face all about the scary haunted house
A nice flower! After a scary haunted house
She got some pop corn and then we headed home
When we got home I let her glitter a pumpkin
And put stickers on another pumpkin.
Then it was off to bed to watch the Wizard of Oz.
This morning Jaina had a soccer game.
She did a great job and set up a few goals for the other kids on her team. They won 14-2! Go Tigers!!
While we were there Jolee learned a new word, she kept saying "Go, go go" cheering her sister on! She also can now say Dixi which sounds like Dickie, kitty and Do Do
