Easter Sunday

Since I had to work Sunday morning I went ahead and put the Easter Bunny stuff out the night before. This year I tried to think of something different to give the girls so I got them umbrella's! They don't have any and I knew Jaina would love her's so why not. I also got them two spring outfits as well.
In their buckets I got them some side walk chalk, a writing pad, a bracelet
Some seeds to plant and some candy
Here are the girls with their easter gifts

The girls were anxiously waiting for me to get home so they could open their present from Grandma DoDo and Papa Richard
They got some candy, a stuffed animal, some money and bracelets
My uncle came over and the Easter bunny showed up, lol
After my uncle got to the house we ate some brisket and then died Easter eggs
It was a bit messy but the girls had fun
They even got to put glitter on them
Then my uncle gave the girls their Easter basket. Jaina got some Pete the Cat books, a tiny basket with candy and coins in it
And Jolee got a laughing Sock Monkey, with some playing cards, and coins as well
Then the girls got to finally have their egg hunt that they had been  waiting for.
Can you tell they were excited?!
The girls hunted eggs in the front yard this year
Can you see how fast Jaina was going, lol
Daddy helping the girls hunt for missing eggs

Then we all went inside so the girls could see what they got in their eggs.
It was a fun and very busy Sunday. We hope that everyone had a great Easter Sunday.

Easter Pics

Sunday Justin took the girls to church all by himself! I couldn't believe it. Since we have been married he's only gone to church a handful of times but never with the girls by himself so I was very proud!
He asked me what I wanted him to do for Easter since I had to work and all I wanted was for him to take the girls to church, so he did.
I got home from work after church was over. Luckily the girls were still in their dresses so I was able to snap a few cute photos of them
Don't you love their dresses?!
I got them last summer at Sears
Justin had already undressed so I took a picture with the girls. He said he didn't feel like getting dressed again for a photo.
Always camera ready!
Never.....ever camera ready. She barely makes eye contact with me while trying to take a photo. It can be a bit frustrating at times
She is such a stinker!!
Lol!
But that's okay she's expressing herself!

A Glow Hunt

Last Thursday was both girls Easter egg hunts at school. Both girls had to bring enough eggs for all their class mates. The teachers prefer trinkets instead of candy so I put stickers their eggs. They were both so excited.
Jaina's eggs had to be number 1-22. Each student got a number, Jaina's was 12. All the students got to hunt at one time but they could only grab the eggs that had a number 12 on it. I thought that was really clever and more challenging for the kids
Jaina and her "best friend" Leighton
After I got home from work on Friday I got the girls dressed and ready to go see the Easter bunny at the mall
Both were excited until her reach the front of the line and Jolee freaked out. She wanted no part in that Easter bunny. Jolee was crying and not wanting to go and refused to move any where near it. So Jaina as sweet as she could walked over to Jolee whispered something in her ear and convinced Jolee to go sit with the bunny. Jolee complied but only if she stood on the opposite side of Jaina.
Well good enough for me, both girls smile and the picture was taken
Saturday evening my friend Leah and her family came over to have burgers and a glow in the dark egg hunt for the kids
Leah brought goodie cups and eggs for all the kids, they were so cute
And speaking of cute, arnt these little Easter rascals cute!
After we ate Leah and I put together glow in the dark eggs. We bought glow sticks, broke them, put the liquid in the eggs and then shook the eggs so they would glow.
It was a great idea but made such a mess!
Not sure if you could tell but we hid all the eggs out in the front yard. It looked so cool and the kids squealed with excitement.
We all stood outside and watched them. They were so excited
Can't you tell?!
After wards we let the eggs open their one big egg that Leah brought for them. It was filled with a necklace, glow ring and candy
I'm so glad I have such a great friend that lives two doors down that I can make such fun memories with :)

Easter at Mimi's

I will post our Easter pics this week but wanted to finish up from our Easter from last weekend. While we were in Houston visiting my parents we decided to do Easter while we were all together since we would all be apart on Easter day.
Here are all the grand kids dressed and ready for the day.
Ha! I love this picture of Alyssa
As you can tell it's just impossible to get all the kids to look and smile at the camera all at one time
We tried several.....I mean several times to get them to look at the camera
So we split them up and took their pics individually
They all looked so cute in their dresses
Even Little Red
I love this picture of Jolee

After pictures we ate lunch. My mom made ham and I helped her make the fixings
Then my mom gave the kids their Easter bags
They got a new spring outfit, some Icy pops
And Jolee's favorite, candy
Then it was time for the egg hunt
all the grand kids race around my parents back yard
They had such a fun time hunting the eggs
and we all had a fun time watching the kids hunt their eggs
Even baby Austin hunted eggs

Then they all came inside to see what they got. More candy!
Then it was time to die eggs
The girls had a great time dying their eggs and making a mess!
After all the fun it was time for us to head back to Temple. We had a great time and a great visit
