Jaina's room is finalllllly finished.
It only took me seven months, lol. Only because we all know her furniture didn't arrive until December and I got caught up in school and I realized how much painting is a pain in my butt! Plus I have no decorating skills so whatever! Anyways it's complete and I'm happy with the final product. So as you can see there is NO more dirty nasty carpet in her room. It's now replace with awesome hard wood floors.
After we finished our living room and hallway we had decided to re-carpet all the bedrooms at a later date but Jaina somehow got ahold of some red lipstick (ok I gave it to her without thinking) and she smeared it all over her carpet and we couldn't get it out. On top of all the pee stains, drink stains, and whatever else that steeped into it. So I got fed up and demanded hardwood floors in her room, Lol not really but you get the idea. While we were in Houston Justin put them in and I loved them! Thanks hunny! I painted her room a light purple (not sure if you can tell in the photo) but it came out really pretty. I repositioned her dresser (which was her great-granny's) to the other side of the wall. And set up her tea table up that she got from my parents for Christmas and her recliner from my uncle. I plan on hanging some framed photos on the blank wall above the bear, maybe something with a poppy color. I left her original curtains up that my mom made for her nursery. I was going to go with a darker purple color but since her borders are white I thought I would leave them but who knows I may change my mind.
Her closet has been a really big issue for sometime now. I hate sliding doors and with her closet being so small I could never opened it up far enough to get stuff in there so we took the doors down and I planned on her just going with out doors. But she had a huge toy box in there and that created an even worse problem because she would get inside the toy box and throw everything out on to the floor. (which I had mentioned in another post) So I threw out the toy box, bought her plastic containers, categorized all her toys into the boxes, organized all her clothes and shelves and she still was throwing everything out of the closet and yanking down her clothes. And yes, I know she's a child and she is going to have a messy room BUT she's 2! And that's uncalled for! So in order to fix that problem I made Justin go out and buy these fan doors, which I like because you can open both sides and see the whole closet BUT there was one problem. When Justin was putting the doors on he realized the carpenters that built our house built her closet on a slant and the doors wont shut all the way! Uhh.. I just told him to leave them as is and we can deal with it later!
Here is her cute little desk and mirror we got her. It's all different light colors and has big butterfly's, bees and bugs on it.
The desk opens up, which she's already figured out how to hide things in it.lol
The desk also came with a cute little bench that has a big butterfly on the side. She's been playing with her furniture since it arrived and it already has makers stains and stickers stuck on it, lol
This is the big bee on the side. Isn't it cute!
This is her bench/book case. As you can see she has a ton of books in it already. She loves to pull all the books out and scatter them around her room, lol
This the other side of her room.
I bought her bed from a co-worker. It was a brown wood bed when I first got it and I painted it white. I found her bedding at Target which surprised me how well it went with her room.
The shelf above her bed is filled with goodies. I wasn't for sure what else to put over her bed so I just left the shelf. I have some framed photod of her, a bunny from her great-granny that passed away, her birth certificate and her favorite piggy bank.
This little shelf also came with her set. I think it's adorable but I'm unsure of what to put on it because I know whatever I do put on it will be taken off in two minutes flat so I'll just let her put what ever she wants to on it.
