Taking a tour in our bathoom

Well it's all coming together. I now have our guest bathroom, Jaina's room, our bedroom and our bathroom done. Now all I have left is our guest bedroom, living room and kitchen. Watch now we'll have to move, ha! Here are some pictures. Enjoy!
Here is our bathroom. It is attached to our bedroom which was a + when we moved into this house. I used the same dark chocolate brown paint as I did in our guest bathroom. If we decide to live in this house for awhile I do want to replace this cabinet with a smaller dark wood more antiquey looking cabinet with a new sink and knobs. And definitely some new lighting!

This is Justin's side. I've got two candle holders on each side Which I bought at Wal-Mart. This picture frame is also like the one I have in my guest bathroom as well. (I used those same frames at our wedding) The Leopard night light is from Kirlands And the two containers are from Hobby Lobby (all on Sale) for our Q-tips and cotton swabs.

This is my side. Not much going on, on top of the counters but inside is a whole other story, Ha!

This fun leopard vase I bought again at Hobby Lobby on sale. They have all types in any colors. I think they are fun to put flowers, candles or whatever in.
This is a soap bar holder. I purchased it at Hobby Lobby for only 2 bucks! I love it!

Above our toilet I took off the original hardware because we never used it and replaced it with this one. This find was again from Hobby Lobby and I waited for Weeks until it finally went on sale. The brown frame I actually purchased at the dollar store and just painted over it with some brown left over paint I had. The other frame I've had for years.

The shower rod and hooks are from Wal-mart. And the towel hook is again from Hobby Lobby for 5 bucks.

I looked everywhere for the perfect shower curtain and could not find one that I liked except this one from Wal-Mart. I wanted to incorporate the browns and reds I have in our bedroom. Not bad for 20 bucks.

Again I changed the original hardware to one that matched the shower rod, 15 bucks at Wal-mart and a brown metal trash can from Bed, Bath and beyond.

And this is where we keep all our care products. As you can see its not in order but thats how it usually looks anyways. I do wish this had a door in front of it or a curtain. Who knows maybe one of these days I'll fix that.
I hope you enjoyed the tour of our bathroom. My next project will be our hallway and living room but those are going to take awhile so yall will just have to sit tight!

15 Months

I can't believe Jaina is already 15 months old! I know I say this in every post but she is getting to be so big and is growing more everyday. I was just thinking today that I cant barley remember her crawling, time just seems to be slipping by. We are definitely beginning to see more of her own personality. She may look just like me but she acts just like her daddy! I think I see trouble in our future, ha!
One of the sweetest things she does now is when I get home from work or when we are laying in bed cuddling she will actually wrap both her arms around my neck and give me a great big tight hug and then a great big kiss. Ahhh it just melts my heart and makes me want to hold on to her forever.
She is also practing blowing her nose and she makes the goofiest frowny face you will ever see.
We go for her 15 month check up March 2 since I had to cancel the appointment we have on Monday. I am very curious to see how much she has grown since her last appointment.

No recent picture, sorry, something is wrong with my camera but I think this one is cute from Christmas.

Bitten

Well...Justin picked Jaina up from daycare on Monday and she was sitting in time out crying her eyes out. Justin said when she saw him she came running to him and he asked the teacher what happened. She said Jaina had just bitten a girl in her neck! What?! Justin said well was that the only girl she had bitten today and the teacher said "Oh No". He called me right away to let me know what had happened. I told him that if she bites anymore or makes another child bleed, she will get kicked out of daycare and that can't happen because that's the only daycare we have in our small little town. So we're not sure what to do because we could try to talk to her but she's not at the age yet where she will actually sit down and listen to us so if anyone has any advice that would be great!

Where do I shop

Ha! The only things I'm shopping for these days are for groceries and baby clothes! Last Friday Kelly hosted on her blog about where people shop. Well my shopping days are long and over with for me now that I have a child. I would consider myself a random shopper because I don't really have any one specific place I have to buy clothes.
I hardly EVER buy anything for full price, I love a great bargain! My closet is REALLY REALLY sad. I honestly do not ever go shopping for myself. 95% of my time is spent in a Business suit for work and the other 5% I'm so sick of dressing up for work I just want to throw on a T-shirt and jeans for around the house.
Since I do work in the funeral business its mandatory that we dress in business suits and wear black. I love that but I try to spice it up around my funeral home and wear cute balloon skirts or more colored clothing with really cute pumps. But yeah most of the time its a black pencil skirt or a black blazer. I usually buy my suits at JC Penny, Beals, Kohls, Ross or online.

This is my typical work suit, but I prefer a pant suit at 3 in the morning (yes we even have to dress up when we are on call )

I love this look, especially during the winter time because I love wearing black tights with my skirts and a nice pump
I recently bought two suits with belts and are loving them
And these shoes I ABSOLUTELY LOVE I wear them ALL the time at work with skirts and dresses. I bought these last year and had to have them. The ONLY store that carried them was the JC Penny in Wichita Falls!
I'm also loving these two pairs of shoes but I have no idea wear I would wear them to.Jaina's clothes I mostly buy at Target, JC Penny, Ross, Wal-Mart or Kohls. I can't wait until all the fun and cute spring dresses come out. I usually just buy whatever is the cutest thing they have. I can never go into a clothing store without buying her something.

As far as decorating for our house (which I have actually gotten into lately) I LOVE as you all know shopping at Hobby Lobby, Kirklands, Ross, Wal-mart, Jc Penny and Ebay!

Toys Galore

Well last weekend when I went to my parents house in Houston one of my main goals were to get the rest of my belongings and bring them home. I didn't have much left but about 5 boxes full of my old toys. My mom saved all my old toys that I played with when I was little just in case one day I had a child of my own, and that day has come! Looking through those boxes brought back so many memories from when I was a child and how much fun I use to have playing with them. I know here in about a year or two Jaina will love pulling all those toys out and playing with them. She has plenty of her own toys for now so last night we spent most of our time putting them up in the attic and here in a couple of months when she out grows her toys we will bring down mine.
Here are just some of my "Little People" sets. I loved playing with these especially that brown house. Jaina played with these for awhile before I packed them up in her closet.

I don't know if yall remember but this is a Glow Worm. I slept with this all the time when I was little. It definitely needs to be washed up before she plays with it

We did play for quite awhile in her room with my car collection. I LOVED hot wheel cars when I was little. She loved playing with them last night and was even making a motor noise with her mouth as she was rolling them around. LOl. But these I had to put in the attic because there are some pretty small pieces in that box, Maybe in a couple of years she will be able to play with them.

I had the biggest collection in my neighborhood when I was little

And this little green dress use to be mine and Jaina is way to big for it :(
So maybe...lol our next daughter can wear it...hehehe

A weekend in Houston

Saturday my uncle was heading down to Houston to see my mom so Jaina and I decided to ride along with him since Justin had to work. I grew up in Alvin if anyone knows where that is, lol. Alvin is between Galveston and Houston. It takes us about about 3 hours to get there. Jaina was a little fussy in the car and wanted out of her car seat but there wasn't anything I could do about it. I noticed that she was drooling alot so I stuck my finger in her mouth and ah ha, she has a molar coming in. So we mad a mad dash to CVS to get a teething ring and some biter biscuits. That should hold her over for a while. Poor Baby I know those teeth have got to hurt her.

My niece Rhiannon and Jaina, they were so excited to see each other

As soon as we got to Alvin we visited with my sister and parents and we were all starving so we headed to my all time favorite Mexican restaurant in Pearland, Gringos! I love Gringos! To bad there arnt any around the Austin area cause we would be going there ALOT.
Jaina had a puff stuck to her cheek
Jaina was due for a much needed nap when we got home so my mom said she would put her down so my uncle and I could go tool around for awhile. We headed over to the BayBrook area to do some shopping. I forgot what great shopping Houston has. I haven't been home in over a year so we had fun checking out all the new stores around town. They have a huge Kirklands, which I love because they carry stuff like Prier One but way cheaper, they also have a huge NICE Marshalls, we also stopped by Aaron Brothers, Michael's, and Garden Ridge. We also drove around BayBrook mall and all my memories were crushed. In my high school and college days I spent 4 years working at the Olive Garden and they torn my old building down and built a new one. I seriously wanted to cry, all my fun memories were crushed. I lOVED that job :(
When we got home Jaina was sound asleep and my niece wanted to play with her Wii. This was my first time to ever play. We all had so much fun playing against each other. We even got my mom and dad to play. We played golf, tennis, bowling and guitar hero. We laughed and laughed. I thought it was so much fun I'm even thinking about buying one. Ha!
We woke up early Sunday morning and me, my uncle Jaina and my niece Rhiannon went down to the Busy Bee Cafe to have breakfast and mmmm was it good. I haven't been there in years. Jaina loved her scrambled eggs and biscuits.
We headed back to my moms and then finally left around 3. Jaina was so fussy in the car so we made a pit stop in Brenham so Jaina could run around. I was pushing a buggie around and Jaina was walking and reached up to try and push the buggie for me but she was to short so she had her own idea on how she was going to push the buggie. LOL we laughed so hard.

What a fussy day!

From the Jaina woke up yesterday she cried. I don't know what the deal was but it was ALL day! This was the first time she has ever done that. I tried laying her down, no that didn't work, I tried feeding her, no that didnt work, finally around 7pm she went to sleep for the night. I'm not sure if its because she is in a new routine with daycare or if it was because she has a cold but it was extremely rough on me and Justin because we are not use to that.Early in the morning Jaina and I had to take Justin to his eye doctor because when he woke up he couldn't open his eyes and said there was something wrong. At his appointment the doctor said he had burns and scabs on his eyeballs! And would have to get medicine and glasses. Justin thinks it was from the 3 alarm fire they had downtown last week.
As Justin was at his appointment I had an appointment to get some new Health insurance because apparently Blue Cross doesn't offer maternity coverage if you get pregnant. We failed to notice that when we signed up so thank goodness I'm not pregnant! At my appointment Jaina was so fussy and crying, at one point she had my whole purse dumped out on the floor playing with everything and she dumped her milk on the floor as well so I was a little frustrated when I went and picked Justin up. But I do have to say Justin looks pretty Hot in his new glasses.

When we got home we played out on the back deck for a little while and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Jaina loved it! I figured she would since she gets to play outside now at daycare. After we put Jaina to sleep I made a new awesome recipe for chicken so here it is.
I got it out of my SPJST Czech book: Chicken bake:
Take your chicken breast and put them in melted butter. For your dry mix take 1/2 package and crumble Ritz Crackers in a bowl. Then 1/2 a cup of Parmesan cheese and one tablespoon of Garlic powder. Roll your chicken in the dry mix and then bake for 1 hour at 325. mmmm it was good!

What makes me happy!

Today was an extremely exhausting day at work. From the minute I got there I never sat down. when I got home tonight Jaina was already sleeping because she had a hard day of play at her daycare. Justin greeted me with a kiss and said look babe your daughter drew you something at school today. My heart melted! Her first little hand drawing. Justin had it posted on the fridge like a proud papa. I told him I would definitely have to add that to her scrapbook. Now its time for my 3 day weekend which I get to spend with both my babies. Nothing but playing and relaxing!

MIA

The last couple of nights Justin and I have spent atleast 30 minutes trying to find Jaina's pacifier so she can go to sleep. We have been down to only two this week and we couldn't figure out where they were all going. We give them to her occasionally during the day and they always seem to just disappear around her bedtime. hhhmmmm? So guess what I found two pacifiers the other night and you want to know where they were? Lol, one was in the box were we keep the chicken feed along with an old cell phone and one was in the dyer. LOL, she thinks she's cute! I did find that funny though. That's not the first time she has hidden those from us. Alot of time Justin and I will find them stuffed in our shoes and buried way down in her toy box. Lol, I got a kick out of it, I'm just wondering where else these puppies are going to show up at, apparently not in her mouth!

First day of Daycare

Early this morning Justin got a call that their was a 3 alarm fire at a church in downtown Temple. The church that caught fire was actually on the corner of the street we use to live on. Well I was on call and was in panic mode! Because if I got a call the same time he left I would have to leave to and he left me at home with a child and no one to watch her! So I fanatically made a call to the Play Yard in Salado and luckily they had a spot available. She wasn't actually scheduled to come in until Thursday.
She had to show me how she can dance!
I was a little nervous about dropping her off in a new environment but I knew she would have no problems adjusting. We rushed in and I did all the necessary paperwork and then we met all the teachers and her new classmates. She was SO excited and thrilled! Before we even got to her room we were standing in the hall and she heard all the kids in the other room and she was just looking and looking for those kids. I met her teacher and Jaina was so excited to be there I could barley get a kiss in. Ha! She was like, bye Mom I got friends to meet!
She likes to stomp her foot when she dances, lol
They told me if she was going to be in the big girl class room she couldn't have a bottle just a sippy cup which is fine and better in the long run for us. She would get breakfast at 8, lunch at 11, and then down for a nap from 11 to 2 and then play time until we come and pick her up. I was a little nervous about that and thought she may be a little cranky and would want to go back to sleep because her schedule at home is waaaaay different. (She doesn't even really have a schedule at home)
Gettin down!
When Justin got there this afternoon all the teachers were bragging on who well she did, played with the other kids and never once cried! She was SO fired up when we got home. That's all I could think about at worked today was what she was doing, if she was okay, was she playing with the other kids nicely. She just beamed when we got home. And she was in bed with no problems by 8:00!!! She never goes to sleep that early, ever! She has no interaction with other kids so I think this is going to work out just fine! I sure am not going to frown on putting my child in daycare, she loves it! Ha!
Taking a break from dancing so she can play with her toys
On another note today marks our one year anniversary in our house! I cant believe we have already been in this house for one year. Ill never forget the day we moved in because it was such a great feeling knowing this was all ours, our first home together, how nice it is and we did it all on our own. What a great feeling that is. I remember Jaina was so tiny at that time we moved in and all the milestones she's had so far here. I love this house to pieces and I don't think we could have picked a better one!
And here is Justin's cat sleeping with her arms straight out in the air, lol
Crazy cat, she caught me taking a picture of her

It's finally done!

Well after a year of living in our house our bedroom is finally done. Last summer when Kelly was hosting her home tour I was in the process of fixing up our home. I first started with our guest bedroom then Jaina's room and now our room and bathroom. It took awhile because decorating takes time and money but it's finally done so here is my home tour of our bedroom.

Here is a view from our bathroom, our room is a pretty good size with lots of space. That was one of the key points when we bought this house. I don't know about yall but my bedroom has to be big! Our curtains were the last touch in the room. I wasn't sure what I was going to do since we had the three windows above so I bought two regular panels and had my mom cut them and sew them into three. To the right of the room is Justin's side. The head board we made this summer (which saved us a ton of money) the bedspread is from JC Penny and the lamps were purchased at Hobby Lobby all on sale.

The closet on this side is Justin's. The dresser is Justin's too. We are in debate on weather we are going to get an antique Armoire or if we are going to keep it and fix it up and paint is a dark brown and put new knobs on it.

Here are a couple of random pictures of us. The picture to the right on the wall is our marriage license and the picture to the left of that one is a wedding frame that we had everyone sign on our wedding day.

Justin hung his guitar on the wall. The tables were a cheap find from Garden Ridge. I found a red round table cloth and then bought some leopard fabric to go on top of that. The lamps are red with a leopard interface and a leopard bow.

This is my closet, I dare not open it. It's not so neat at the moment. The wall scones Justin actually purchase on his own, I was so proud he did such a good job. At the top of the closet we plan on purchasing a flat screen so we can lay in bed and watch movies. And then we have a long mirror by the bathroom.

This is my side of the room. To the left where the chair is we are at the moment of deciding what computer desk we are going to purchase to put in that spot and I also need to get one more panel for the large window.

This vanity we bought at a junk shop last summer for 60 bucks, It was in terrible shape when we got it. We sanded it down and stained it dark brown and glossed it. I think it turned out really good.

I have a couple of random pictures on the desk. The desk is full of make-up, nail polish, and all things girly and Jaina just loves to open all the drawers and pull out anything she can get her hands on.

And yes this is a leg lamp! Like from the movie " A Christmas Story". My uncle got this lamp for me a couple of years ago. I think it's the coolest lamp! You can turn it on like a regular lamp or your can turn the switch again and just her leg will light up.

This chair I painted a couple of years ago and the zebra print was actually a skirt I use to wear. I love the chair.

Im so glad Im finally finished with our bedroom. I never knew how long and hard it really is to decorate a home. My next project is to finish our bathroom which Im actually almost done with so stay tuned Ill have pictures of it soon. Thanks for stopping by.
