Middle of the Week

Look at my lil pumpkin girl.
I love spending time with her one on one when the other two are in school. It gives me time to watch her play, rock her, swing her and watch her grow without all the distractions of the other two.
She's ready for Halloween in her little pumpkin outfit. Can yall believe it's fall already?
This is how the middle of the week has me. Tired and wiped out!
This girls loves a good carb. Cookies, crackers, chips you name it she loves her carby snacks.

Goooooo wild cats! I told Jolee she looks like she could play in the Broadway show Cats. I also told her that's a good way of getting Corona by putting on that mask, lol.
Wednesday and Thursday evenings are usually spent at Girl Scouts. Jaina's group meets at the park and Jolee's group meets at the funeral home. Justin usually brings me the girls to town for their meetings. We are usually done late and always get dinner afterwards.
This girl loves her Daddy!

Ambulance Tour

The Brownies had yet another adventure last week. They are working on their first aid badge.
The girls got to tour the ambulance at the fire station.
The girls got to sit in the ambulance and Justin got to teach the girls about all the equipment and things that go on during an emergency. The girls were super engaged
Jaina and Haley got to listen in on their training too but it didn't last that long until a real call came in and the ambulance had to take off. The girls got to listen in on the call and watch it drive away with all it's lights and sounds on. It was pretty cool.
Then we went into the training room to learn about first aid. The girls laughed and giggled so hard because they couldn't get over the fact that the dummy wasn't wearing any pants, lol.
Mrs. Ariel gave each girl a real first aid kit. So Justin went over what was in their kit and how to use it and also showed them a few procedures that they do on real people.
The girls had fun. It's great to have a Daddy who can teach his own girls about safety.

15 Months

Yall this girl turned 15 months in September. Can yall believe that?! I was thinking today how it's gotten a little easier as she's gotten bigger. Some things are hard and some things have gotten better. It boggles my mind when we start doing math Jaina vs. Jewell.  We will say well, you know when Jewell is 18 Jaina will be 30. Ughhhhhh! We could very well possibly be grandparents before Jewell is ever out of school. LoL OMG

The biggest things that have happened this month is Jewell now has two molars and 8 teeth all together! Her vocabulary is getting stronger each month. A few knew things she knows how to say is, bubble, oh no (but in a sad way), nana for banana, wa wa is water, and she likes to repeat momma louder and louder and louder if I don't answer her. She's very demanding! Lol And she knows how to bark and meow

Food is so random for her. She's been the hardest out of the three to feed because all she wants is her carbs! This girl loves a cracker! She also loves sugar. If it's sweet she's eating it. She wont eat a lot of meat and she will NOT eat her vegetables. But I did feed her some mashed up avocado and she liked it as long and there was tortilla chips crashed on top. Lol. And cereal ohhhhhh this girl loves Cheerios. Every night before bed she runs to the pantry and brings me the box of cheerios.

She broke out in a rash about 2-3 weeks ago and we are trying to pin point what is going on. It's like she's got two different rashes. One, the yeast infection and the second looks like maybe she is allergic to something she is eating. One of the main things she likes is dairy. She still drinks alot of milk. So we switched her to a lactose free milk and are gonna see if that clears it up.

A few other new things she is enjoying this month is the BUBBLE GUPPIES! Thank goodness. I was about tired of Dave and Ava, lol. She now actually will sit and watch the show. She attention span is growing more and more every month. But as far as any other tv, if it's not one of those shows, she's not watching it.
She loves to bring me her books to read to her and she also likes to look through them herself.
She will bring me a diaper all on her own if she feels too wet or has pooped. She's a smart girl.
Her bedtime routine has gotten much better and I'm happy to report she is finally sleeping in her own room all night long every night. I have learned to let her fall back to sleep on her own if she wakes up at night. She only cries for a minute and then she back to sleep. Some nights she will wake up several times and other nights it's just one time.

She is growing like a little weed. I can't believe she will be a 1 1/2 soon. It seems like time is just flying by so quickly yet so slowly.
We love you so much Jewell!

This Weeks Randoms

Jewell enjoyed pushing the basket at the grocery store. It reminded me of when Jaina was just a baby and she was pushing the basket at the stores walking on her knees. I have a little video of her. She was so tiny.
Alot of Jolee's toys have found a new purpose. Jewell is slowly starting to enjoy some of those toys as she gets bigger. She loves pushing Jolee's basket around the house.  This basket has many more years of fun left in it.
Hehe. Driving her own car while momma shops. She LOVED this car! She didn't want to get out.
Reading USA Today, LOL
My roots desperately needed a new root job!
So I just went brown. It's easier to keep up with. I got a little bit cut off. Feels fresh and new.

Clean Up at Cedar Ridge Park

The Brownie's had a clean up day at Cedar Ridge Falls Park last week
They got to hike and clean up at the same time
The trail takes you down to a creek, waterfall and suspension bridge
Jewell and I got to walk with the girls until we got to the stairs and then had to turn around and head back because she was in the stroller and we couldn't go down the stairs. So Jaina and Jolee walked with Mrs. Kristi and Mrs. Ariel
They are working on their "Leave No Trace Behind", keep the environment clean badge. So one of the things it teaches the girls is to leave no trace or trial of trash behind them.
It teaches them to keep the environment clean and beautiful where ever they go
I LOVE that!
They picked up a big trash bag full of trash and Jolee even found an animal tooth, lol

I love the little group Jolee is in this year. There is only 3 of them. Payton and McKenzie. I decided to hold Jolee back a group this year because the group she was in last year was so far advanced then her. She fits perfect with this small group and likes both McKenzie and Payton. We are gonna have a fun year!

This Poor Baby

Jewell started out about two weeks ago with what I thought was just a little bit of a diaper rash. I put some cream on it thinking she would be fine in a couple days for it just seemed like it kept getting worse and spreading even more. So I started buying all kinds of creams, You name I bought it. Nothing worked and she just kept scratching and scratching. So I ended up taking her to the doctor last week because it was so bad. The doctor said it was a yeast infection. I got some prescription cream for her and out the door we went.
The cream just wasn't doing the trick. I did even the doctor said to do plus more. Then Sunday she woke up with the rash all over her body and face. She woke up in a terrible mood and new I needed to see a doctor asap. We headed to Harker Heights to Express ER where they took us right back.
He said her infection was defiantly a bad one. Luckily its just on the outside and nothing we have to deal with internal. So he prescribed her some anti fugal liquid to take.
This picture really doesn't do justice. It was bad yall!
We were fixing to get up and leave and something told me to check her ears. Thank goodness I did because she ended up with a double ear infection! I was a little surprised by that but had notice her messing with her ears the last few days and God was telling to me not to leave without getting those checked. And boy was I glad we did!
We picked up both her medications and this morning she is feeling alot better. The rash is still there and she is still scratching but she does seem to be on the mends of feeling better.
Hopefully this will do the trick!

The Amtrak to Taylor

The girls are in full swing in Girl Scouts. They have been attending meeting and already earning lots of patches. I will have to say with Covid it has made things different for the troop this year. Lots of things are virtual which for us has made easy to attend. In the past I just didn't have the time to take them to all these places to attend meetings now that they are virtual they just hope on a zoom meeting from the comfort of their own room and follow the instructor and earn their patch. A lot of other patches they have been earning have been self pace. Meaning we can do them at our own time. Which helps me because I can schedule things when I'm off from work.
Last weekend the girls earned their railroad safety patch. When earning a patch the child will have to research or go to a place to earn that patch. Since I love taking the girls places it was only fitting to let them ride the Amtrak and visit the railroad museum.
We have rode the Amtrak several times but we have never visited the museum. I will have to say the museum was a little disappointing, there wasn't much in it. But there was some things to learn and look at that was part of their patch work so they got credit for it.
But I'm glad we got to visit it and see what was in the museum.

Jewell was having fun

So when we ride the Amtrak we take the 4pm train from Temple to Taylor. Taylor is about a 45minute ride. Usually one of us will ride with the girls and someone will drive. Since these was Jewell's first train ride I rode with her and Allie drove my car to Taylor to pick us up.
The girls got goodie bag. They got a bag with a coloring book, a real nice hat, a train squishy, and a paper train to build.
Jolee was loving it
We walked around the train car and took some pictures

And then walked down to the play area to let the girls play

Then it was time to load up
You walk in train and up the stairs to the second deck. You have a choice to sit in a dining car, observatory car or a regular seated car
We chose to sit in the observatory car
We waited for a few minutes and then we were off
Jewell was loving this train ride. She had a blast!
She pointed out the window, smiled, giggled and laughed a few times

So fun
Jolee has rode a few times as well but said she didn't remember so to her this was a new experience
I enjoyed watching the girls have fun
The train was a little busy there was lots of people riding

Then we moved to the dining car
Our view
It seemed like we were going really slow but the train tops 80 miles an hour.
During our ride Allie stopped at two different railroad crossings, got out of the car and waved at us.
The girls squealed with excitement when they saw him
:)
While we were in the dining car Jolee pretended to be our waitress and serve us food and drinks

We got to Taylor in no time and Allie was waiting at the station to pick us up. It was a lot of fun.
And this is what their patch looks like. The bottom patch is the one they earned from the Girl Scout Council and the top patch is the one I bought them at the railroad gift shop. Both patches will go on their uniforms.
