It's time for tea

Jaina is always begging me to have a "real" tea party so today we did! The last time we had a "real" tea party was the day before I went into labor with Jolee which means Jolee has never attended a "real" tea party at home. So I told them to go get dressed up and ready for tea!
Ha! I loved how Jolee got all girly but still insisted of putting on her tennis shoes with different color socks
I used to do "projects" with Jaina almost every single day which was easy because she was the only child at the time. She loves crafting. But since having Jolee it all seems so overwhelming most days. Jolee is a lot to handle and she doesn't have the patience for crafting. Which also makes me feel guilty for not crafting with the girls. I do understand their two different children with different likes and just because I don't "craft" with them doesn't mean Im not spending time with them or I'm a bad mom. It just means we are at a different place in our lives then when it was just Jaina as the only child. But I did realized that she is now at the right age to actually start enjoying it so maybe she will like to do some of the things that I used to do with Jaina. She LOVED the tea party today! What girl wouldn't?
I made them lunch, they had sandwiches, chips, cheese stick and a cookie on my REAL china.
With tea of course.....(apple juice)
Don't you love how Jolee's feet hang and don't touch the ground :) I remember once upon a time ago Jaina's feet didn't touch either.
It was a sweet lunch shared by sweet sister's :)

Glow stick pool party

Yesterday morning the girls and Lily went swimming and played in the pool most of the day before I took her home. I can tell the girls are getting bigger and a little more mature because they don't fight as much and play together a lot more.
After we dropped Lily off we headed out to my uncle's house to stay the night. The girls can't really stay the night at my uncle's during the school year because of our schedule's get so busy.
We went and ate and then waited for the sun to go down a little bit before filling up the pool with water. Jaina was being a little impatient
So she and sister did tumbles across the yard until it was ready. I remember tumbling from one end of the yard to the other with my sister's when we were little. And let me tell ya he's got a huge yard too
Giving sister kisses
Finally it was time to get in. The girls swam for a good two hours before taking their first break. They had SO much fun!
Then we had an ice cream break. We stopped at the store before coming home and picked up some ice cream cups. Jaina was in Heaven!
Then I took the girls inside for a bathroom break and came outside to a surprise in the pool
My uncle had gotten them a ton of glow sticks and threw them in the pool and surprised them. They were SO excited! They had a blast! My uncle got in with them too. They swam for another hour before heading in the house at 10pm.
We had a great time and a late night. Jolee was out in 2 minutes flat
This morning we headed to Cameron to eat breakfast at the park and feed the ducks some bread. We came back and the girls wanted to swim again! They swam about 2 hours. We had a picnic lunch out back and then headed home. They played their little hearts out and were asleep in the car 2 minutes down the road!

A sleep over

Today we picked up Lily to come and have a sleep over. The girls were super excited. Jaina needed some much needed girlfriend time in her life. We headed by Walmart for a few things and then headed home.
They played doll house, went swimming, played dress up and watched some movies. That gave me a chance to get some things done while they played. They had a fun day! There's not to many more weeks for sleep overs before school starts.

Swimming at Allie's

Yesterday morning we enjoyed sitting outside while the weather was tolerable. By 10am its blazing HOT. We haven't even reached our 100 days yet its just been unbearable because of the humidity.

Daddy played a little ball with the girls for awhile. Jaina actually said she may want to try playing tball again. We will see maybe we will sign her up and she can try it again
Justin headed to work so the girls and I headed out to my uncle's house for the day. He had a surprise for them when we got there. He got them a pool, they were SO excited!
He even got in with them. They had a BLAST! Jaina said on the car ride home "mom, that was so much fun". It was so hot outside I would have gotten in too but I didn't bring any extra clothes
We took a time out to have a picnic lunch. They had hotdogs and ice cream with strawberries. Then got back in the pool for a while
After we left my uncle's house we ran a few errands and then headed home

Summer memories

This week I have been trying to really cut back on calories and not eat out at all and have done really well all week until tonight. I worked all day without a lunch break and was starving when I got home, so I blew my calorie count for the day and splurged on Mexican food. Do I regret it...no! Lol
We went to Corona's in Belton. The girls love it because they get queso and chips of course
Jolee likes to "dip it"
And once the queso runs out so does their attention span. Going to dinner with two young children is almost more work then just making dinner at home sometimes
They act a fool, Jolee crawls under the table, Jaina eggs on Jolee and then she ends up screaming.
Until they get in trouble and then Justin and I are frustrated and eat in silence
But we love our babies and wouldn't trade this time for the world. I know its not going to last long and it can be overwhelming and frustrating at times but one day in the blink of an eye there gonna be all grown up and were gonna be wishing we had this time back. Sometimes you just have to laugh and enjoy the craziness of life and raising kids.

Watching the girls as they feed the ducks

Crazy girl
After feeding the ducks the girls got frozen yogurt. Cause you know its completely sanitary getting ice cream after playing with duck food. Lol
Oh well
We're making summer memories!

Going through the motions

This week were just going through the motions. Ever have those days/weeks? We have really tried staying indoors and not getting into any pool or sun. Its just been SO hot and dreadful outside. If you have yard work you better wake up with the chickens or wait until sundown before getting anything done. I know the girls had a great time last week during swim but our bodies and skin really needed a rest.
So far we haven't done a whole lot of anything. We did spend the day running errands and grocery shopping.
Now since Jolee is getting a little older, shopping with two kids has become a challenge and a chore. They fight, run, hide and scream in the store. I dread shopping with both of them. I can handle one but not both, its becoming overwhelming. Which also makes couponing a bigger challenge and non existence, these days I better pick ONE store and one store only to get my groceries or else its torture on all of us.
There is a child somewhere in that cart, I swear LOL
I have also been on the ball getting things ready for Jolee's birthday party. I was talking to my sister tonight telling her that with all the time and money spent on throwing the party Jolee could have a nice college fund!
But its one of my highlights for the year and I LOVE making the girls feel special so I don't mind. For those of you, keep an eye out next week for your invitations!
Lately Jaina has been wanting to fix her hair different ways. As you can see she was into the hair bows this day. Even put her bracelets over her ears like they were earrings, lol
Haha pucker lips.
And taking a selfie all by herself.

Fun at the splash pad

Today I had to run a few errands in the morning and then in the afternoon before we headed home I took the girls by the splash pad
When we first got there Jolee was not interested in playing in the water so instead she sat on the bench and looked at her surrounding to see how many people were there. I've figured out she doesn't like big crowds and clams up just like her daddy
but after a while she slowly got in since there wasn't that many kids here today. She ran in and out a couple times getting use to the water
Then she was playing like all the other kids. They both were having fun after a while
I've always wonder what Jolee would look like with straight hair so tonight after her bath I gave her straight hair
I washed it, blow dried it and used a straight iron.
Haha, giving her all to smile
Ive never realized how thin and baby fine her hair is until tonight. Its soooo curly and frizzy that Ive always figured she had thick hair. Its long too. She was gifted with such pretty curly hair and I know she's gonna hate it once she gets older. Jaina has definitely got my thick, thick, straight hair and she will be opposite and what to have curly hair when she gets older. Isn't that how it goes?
But I'll have to say she just isn't my little red without that wild curly hair. That's what makes her personality and I love it, curls and all!
