Easter Pictures 2010

This weekend we took Easter pictures. Friday we headed out to Main street here in Salado and by time we got all packed up it was getting dark. So Sunday we tried again but it was cold and windy. So then Sunday evening we tried again but she was worn out so I gave up! ha! But we did capture a couple good one's. I decided this year not to go to a studio and get them done, I thought hey it's cheaper, I can do as good as a job and I can take as many as I want but the only down side to that is that if you want a family picture it ain't gonna happen unless you get a stranger off the street to take it. But we hope you enjoy them as much as we did!
I LOVE this picture. I just wish my car wasn't in the background! I photoshopped it in color,
B&W and antique
Salado has tons of places to capture great photos
Here it is again in B&W
I love this one too!
Jaina and her Daddy
Again in Antique
This one just cracks me up! LOL
This one is just so bittersweet :)
Okay yall I swear I'm not this tan! Lol I look like I should belong in an episode of Jersey shore! LOL
I think Daddy had enough. Jaina is like "Daddy please smile, it will make mommy happy"
I think daddy rubbed off on her because now I think Jaina had enough. Lol
Picture taken is hard work yall! We hope you enjoyed! Happy Easter!

Happy Birthday Caden

Today we had a big birthday party to attend. My very good friend Carolyn's son, Caden was turning 2! Happy Birthday Caden! Jaina and I headed over to their house around 1. The party was outside which was perfect for all the kids. They all had a blast chasing each other, pushing each other and giving each other rides on the toys. They served hot dogs and hamburgers, chips and dips and I was kinda at a loss of what to give Jaina to eat. She has never had a hot dog before because I am to terrified of her choking on it but I cut it up in tiny pieces and she just was not having it. She looked at me like I was crazy! Haha! I knew exactly what she was saving her taste buds for.....cake! She chowed down on a chocolate cupcake and kept saying ummmmm!
It's so hard getting three 1 & 2 year olds attention all at one time! Jaina, Caden and Lily. I believe they will all be good friends just like the momma's :)
You would think my child would help participate with gifts and cake since she's never around other children but apparently she had other ideas. Haha!
Chris giving her a ride on the four-wheeler....she apparently didn't like that either
But she did like the cake! Lol, of course!
Jaina giving the other kids rides on the tonka truck, I hope she doesn't take after her momma when it comes to driving! LoL
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CADEN!!! WE HOPE YOU HAD FUN!

City Egg Hunt

` This morning my uncle called to see what Jaina and I were doing today. We were headed to Bethel Christian Church for their annual city wide egg drop. So We met my uncle in town to have lunch and then headed to the church. We heard in the past that an airplane flys low and drops over 50,000 eggs for all the children to hunt. Well when we got there, there were squares about as big as a living room taped off with about 1000 eggs in the middle of it with the different age groups marked. As you can see behind me.Jaina had a blast running around like a wild child before it started. This is one of two Easter dresses she has. Justin's Aunt Mary got her two dresses last year and I didn't know which one to put her in. So she'll wear both!
Once it was ready to start we all crowed around these tiny squares. We waited and waited for it to start. Jaina was having an absolute melt down along with all the other kids. It was right at 2:00, eveyone's nap time. They told us parents could go in with the children and help them hunt. We were first in line and got trampled on! Those parents were so greedy just climbing over each other for those eggs. I didn't even let Jaina done because I was afraid someone would step on her. I got a couple of eggs for her and that was all I was not about to fight those other parents for eggs. It was just ridiculous. I think it would have been SO much better to just have had the kids go out on there own and pick them up themselves.
By the time we got in the car Jaina was so tired, hot and thirsty. We didn't even make it a mile down the road and she was out! Poor baby! She had more fun picking up these rocks! Haha! We made a pit stop by the fire station to see daddy. He enjoyed our visit. On our way home my good friend Rosie called and wanted to meet up in Salado to go to there art festival they were having. We got Jaina and Rosie's daughter Lily strapped in the stroller and walked over to the booths and then realized it was over, haha! So much for shopping! Now were home just hanging out, watching dancing with the stars. Ha! What a day!

Show us your life--Cleaning tips

Ha! Where do I begin......Justin and I ALWAYS feel like were cleaning. I have tons of projects I would like to work on but I always feel like I'm cleaning instead....BECAUSE I AM!!!! Justin and I both work full time jobs so its extremely difficult to have it spot free. I do though try to always have the kitchen and leaving room picked up every night before we go to sleep. I am a very lucky girl though, I do have to say my husband does his fair share of cleaning and then some. We try to keep it 50/50 and for the most part it works.
I will have to say I am the more messier one. I tend to leave my clothes on the floor and I have an extremely bad habit of leaving EVERY door and cabinet door wide open all at one time. It dates way back...you can ask my mom, lol.
But as far as cleaning tips the one and only one I will be faithful to and say that it really works is for removing stains use Dawn dish soap, scrub it in and then wash the item and bam it disappears! I sent Jaina to daycare with a new white sweater on one day and when I picked her up she had spaghetti sauce covered all over it. I thought I would never it out but with some helpful advice from Justin's mom, it came out! The key to stains is to never dry the item until the stain is removed then you can dry it.

It's beautiful outside!

Does your child do this??? LOL
Today I got off work early, thank goodness 7 days in a row is all I can take! My boss flipped a coin between me and another person and I won! Actually they teamed up and planned it that way they just wanted to see what I would do if it didn't land on tails. On my way home I was driving through the tiny town of Bartlett and there were about 100 goats in the middle of the road, lol, seriously! Some man raises them in town and they got loose, so when I called the police station the policemen started laughing at me and told me I could take one home! Lol, I said no thank you, I think my husband would kill me! Haha!
I was so glad to see my hubby when I got home then we went and picked up Jaina from daycare. She was sitting patiently on the floor watching cartoons. Now why doesn't she do that when she's at home???When we got home we played outside in the front and back yard. The weather is absolutely beautiful. Jaina had fun picking up leaves and throwing them in the air.

We have a very busy weekend planned, City Easter egg hunt, taking Easter pictures, birthday parties and shopping!

Is it spring or is it winter?

Yesterday was the first day of spring and it rained so much and was so cold that we couldn't even have our graveside at work due to the weather! Geeeezzz cant it get hot already? I think we are allll ready for this crazy weather to be over with and have nice spring weather!Today Jaina is 18 months old! She is getting so big. She now knows how to point to her nose, toes and belly button. And she has learned how to use her stool to get to what she wants. She also knows how to stand on her tippy toes and grab things off the table. Justin and I have noticed lately that she really does know what we are saying because she responds to our commands. If I tell her to look at something she will or if I tell her to put something back and pick something up, she will. So now I am able to explain things to her more because I know she is really listening.
(She's like, move mom I can't see! lol)

She also is showing us now more then ever that the terrible two's have begun because if she doesn't get something that she wants she just cries, screams and gets mad. Jaina has also been yakking up a storm, talks talks talks allllll the time. One of the cutest things that she has been doing lately is that she knows when I or daddy pull up in the garage because she will be standing by the door waiting for us to walk in and then she will just scream with excitement!
18 months have gone by so fast! Her daddy and I love her so much!

True Grit

Today we had a funeral service in the very small town of Granger, TX. I drive through Granger on the way home and on the way to work almost everyday and I never knew they are going to be filming a movie here with Matt Damon! mmmmm! He's yummy!
As we rounded the street with our procession to come down main street we saw film fleet trucks everywhere and a town nearly remolded to look like an old western town. It is pretty cool looking. They have built a couple of saloons and are making an old mansion. The father at the church told me that it will take them 3 months to build the set then they will start filming the re-make of "True Grit" which I have never seen but definitely will be seeing this one. Matt Damon is one of the many stars that will be here.
I would love to an extra in the movie but I heard all those spots are taken :( But when they do start filming I do want to pass by just to see what it's all about and at least be able to say I was close to being in a big Hollywood movie! Ha!

Phantom of the Opera on Broadway!

So last my uncle and I went to see for the 2 time the Broadway Show, Phantom of the Opera and it was AMAZING!!! A couple years ago Broadway came to Bass Hall in Austin and my uncle got us tickets and the show was so good but we were up in the balcony on the third level so it was kinda hard to see everything. But this year we were 13 rows from the stage! It was SO much better then last time, you could see every detail in the costumes, you could hear the sound effects so much better and you could even feel the heat on your face when the fire came up out of the stage! If you have never seen the movie or show, it's not an "Opera" it's a musical and it's in English and very easy to follow. The story line is so intense and emotional that everyone was crying at the end.
Jaina got to stay home with daddy and play while my uncle and I headed out for the night.
I didn't get many pictures because they don't allow pictures in the theater but I have a few of the stage before it started.

Me with the Phantom

The stage before the show started

Circus Gatti

A couple weeks ago the Shriners were having there annual circus in Cedar Park and we were going to take Jaina but I had to work so we missed out. But on Friday when I went into the gas station to get my nightly lotto ticket I saw free tickets to the Circus Gatti in Belton.
I remember my Dad took me when I was little and I liked it so I thought Jaina would like it too. (She will probably never remember any of this but oh well). So when I got home with our free tickets I asked Justin if he wanted to go and he said no so I called to see if my uncle wanted to go with us and he said he would.

When we got to the Expo Center in Belton we went in and I gave the lady our free child's ticket then I told her we wanted two adults tickets and she said it would be 44.00! Geeeezzz way to suck you in! So we go in and wait for the show to start. At first my uncle and I were really skeptical of what we paid to come see and were cracking jokes but we actually had a blast and Jaina had a blast too!

They started the show off with a magic act which was really cool, then they had an elephant act, dog act, trapeze and all sorts of stuff. It really caught Jaina's attention and she just clapped and screamed the whole time. The show was two hours and well worth it.

During intermission you could pay to take a ride on the elephant, pony rides and even get your picture taken with a Python snake! We let Jaina down to run around and when it was time for the second half of the show to start she didn't want to sit down. My uncle got her a snow cone and some dipping dots so maybe that had a little to do with her not wanting to sit down, Lol!

I was a little embrassed because during the show there was a lady sitting in front of us with a hoodie on and Jaina decided to yank it from her! I was so embrassed we had to move down a couple of seats to get away from that lady. When we second half the show started Jaina was a little tired and restless so by the time we got in the car to go home she was out. I'm glad we went I know when she gets bigger she will have alot more fun.

Around the House

Today has been a busy but also lazy day. This morning Justin came home all excited to tell me he is going to start his own side business! He is going to start mowing lawns on his two days off from work. He works 24 on 48 off so it's the perfect match for him. He said it might not sound like much but if you get enough yards then it will add up. He said most of all his other fire buddies mow lawns on their days off so he thought he would do it too, plus he doesn't have to work for someone else and he can be his own boss. So I'm very excited for him, I think this is the happiest I've seen him in a while. He went this morning and bought all the equipment he needs to get started and he said he going out this week to hustle up some yards.

While he was out Jaina and I headed back into town to Best Buy, I took in our camera to see if the geek squad could fix it and so the guy tumbed around on it and said here you go it's all fixed but when I got home it still doesn't work right. So I think a new camera will be my next purchase here pretty soon. We also headed to Target so I could get a bathing suit and cover up for our trip. Jaina layed a big bomb while we were in the dressing room and I KNOW the other people in the dressing rooms could smell it so I had to rush out before anyone saw us, I was so embarrassed but hey what do ya do when you have a baby!
When we got home we played out in the front yard awhile and I thought I would show you this:

I got this bike when I was in 6th grade for Christmas and it somehow ended up on my front door .....thanks to my dad! He said it was the last thing I had left at their house and thought I would want it. So he lugged it down here all the way from Houston. It's old, rusted, hot pink and purple, has flat tires, the brakes don't work and chain is broke. LoL! Seriously why didn't he just throw it away! So if anyone you know is in desperate need of an old bike or you know a place where I can donate it, let me know or otherwise I will be taking it to the junk yard.
Nothing welcomes you more to our house then a front door mat that says "Leave" LoL, Justin bought that and thought it was so hilarious.
Here are my strawberry plants I got from my co-worker that passed away a few months ago. I told her I would take good care of them. I am ready for them to start making some strawberries, mmm I cant wait!
Jaina had a fun time playing with sticks and leaves in the yard. We walked around to the back of the house to check on the chicken and we found 9 fresh eggs. mmmm there's nothing like a fresh egg from your own back yard. We scramble up one egg for Jaina in the mornings and she loves them.
Here is our Blueberry bush that we got last summer. We are wondering if it will make any blueberries this year. You need to have another bush for it to pollinate or you need bees so we will see.
And finally we have lettuce growing! I've tried planting lettuce several times and it has never grown. I planted this way back at the end of November and it is finally sprouting up! I'm so excited. Ha!
