Gobble til you Wobble

Did everyone have a great Thanksgiving?
Grandma DoDo and Papa Richard came down a couple days before Thanksgiving. They are staying for awhile. Grandma Dodo wanted to cook Thanksgiving dinner for everyone and spend time with the girls. We took them out to eat at Mi Pablo one evening.

We had a pleasant Thanksgiving. I cooked some of my usual sides and Dorothy cooked some of her sides. My mom and uncle came over around noon to eat.
All the food was so good and we had tons left over. After lunch we sat around and talked most of the day.
The girls stayed busy. Jolee drawing outside.
Jaina and Allie played a long game of Monopoly. The guys watched the game and then it was time for leftovers. My mom and uncle left shortly after dinner.
Other then that, Jaina had a 9 year old check up. She weighs 79 pounds and is 4.7 feet tall. She had a great visit!

October Randoms

Finally my last post from October. Now I have all of November to catch up on.
Here's just a few more pictures from October.
Lol Sugar trying to escape the cage. Sugar has turned out to be a great little hamster. At first she bit Jaina a few times and even bit Justin a few times but once she warmed up to her cage and to Jaina she didn't bite her anymore.
Jolee and her static hair. She thought this was just the funniest thing ever.
Jaina stayed home from school one day because she woke up throwing up so I stayed home with her. She ended up feeling fine after a few hours. Luckily whatever she had didn't pass to any of us. But I will have to admit sick or not it was nice to spend a little one on one time with her and even snuggle and take a nap with her.
That finally wraps up our busy, busy October!

First Night at our New Home

Here we are the first night in our new house. I was worried about the girls sleeping in the new house, across the house from us and out of our normal routine but they were so tired and excited that they just fell right to sleep.
I will have to say it was so surreal. Like we were just staying the night in someone else's house. And even a month later it still doesn't feel like it's really our house yet.
We had a friend waiting on us the first night we moved in :)
We were nervous about the behavior of the animals but it's actually been a great adjustment for them. The dogs seem alot more settled here then at the old house. The old house the dogs were always barking, always getting out of the fence and escaping. Here, they hardly ever bark and have yet to escape. They are just lazy old dogs now.
At our old house the cats NEVER came inside. Phoenix always stayed outside along with Tiny. Rusty was the only indoor cat we had. Here they are always inside. We were worried they would jump the fence and get hit by a car but they have yet to do so. In fact they stay mostly inside now. I think the road scares them.
The first few days seemed super weird to be here. But we have been soooo busy unpacking that we just haven't had time to soak everything in. The highway behind our house has been a little bit of an adjustment. We know this is not our forever home so we arnt too worried about the noise from the highway nut it has been an adjustment coming from a quiet little neighborhood. We have met several neighbors. Everyone on our street seems to keep to themselves and are very nice. We knew everyone on our old street so our new neighbors have been an adjustment as well.
I guess it will take some time getting use to the new. I'm hoping once I get everything settled, the house painted and the girls rooms fixed it will start feeling more like ours. But for now its good and we are excited for the future in our new house.

Moving Day

I'm finnnnnaly able to blog about our moving day.
Moving day looked a little like this.
When we bought our house we had originally planned to be out of our house on October 16th and in our new house on October 16th. But things didn't go as planned. Our move in date got pushed back until the 20th and we were homeless.
But luckily Justin befriended the couple that we bought our house from. They happened to move out the week before the 16th and gave us free range to move in when ever we wanted to. So we slowly started moving some of our boxes out prior to the 16th which helped alot.
It all came so fast. I tried to do organized packing but once crunch time came I just started throwing stuff in boxes. We left our room and some kitchen items to pack last. Then we had to pull down all the boxes from the attic and we still had the back yard and shed left on move out day. I knew it was going to be overwhelming but I didn't think it would have taken us from early morning until the wee hours of the night to finish.
My uncle came and saved the day. He was the only one to offer us help and we can not thank him enough. He helped me pull everything down from the attic while Justin worked on the back yard.
The girls were bored but found things to do while we packed.
We took several loads in Justin's truck, my car and Justin's trailer.
At this point the girls were excited that we were moving.
After we worked all day for three days straight I then had to deep clean the house. Which included wiping everything down, vacuuming and dusting everything, cleaning windows, fans and baseboards and so much more.
At the time I wasn't emotional at all. I think because it was happening so fast I didn't have time to be emotional and let it sink in. I just kept, going and going.
It's alot of work, moving. I didn't realize how much stuff we accumulated over the last 9 years. I didn't have time to go through everything so that's what I have been doing now.
Here we are once we had everything out of the house.
I took a few last pictures of the girls in front of the house.

Then I let the girls run down to Gracie's house and play one last time.
I was a little emotional at this point.
Thinking that this was our last day here and we would never come back to this house again.
My uncle was a champ and helped Justin move all the big items and even road in the back of his truck holding our fish tank all the way to the new house.
Once it was time to go for the last time Jaina started crying. She cried hard leaving her room and house behind. I let her walk around each room before we left and tell me her favorite memory about each room.
Jolee on the other hand was like "bye", LOL
I will have to say I did shed a few tears as we were walking out.
Because this is where it all began. I was leaving this house behind with all those memories. It was bittersweet. I will always love this house.
And this is where our new adventure begins.
Our new house.
Full of boxes, full of new memories and new adventures.
We can't wait for the story to unfold :)

Faces of Jolee

Jolee is so funny with some of the faces she makes, lol.
She's funny and loves to make people laugh. She even likes to take my phone when I'm not looking and snap a million and one selfies making different faces.
She's such a little stinker!

Book Fair Report & a Career Parade

Last month Jaina brought home a book fair report. The kids had to pick out a book from the library, read it, make a report on it and then put it all on a big poster board. So in the midst of moving, birthday parties and everything else going on we had to work on her poster.
So out of all the books she could pick out she picked a book called Marley Goes to School. A book about a little girl named Cassie who goes to school and her dog Marley follows her to school and gets into a bunch of trouble.
Here was part of the poster we made. I colored black paws around the entire board and then cut out dog bones and had her write on index cards about the book.
On Book Fair day the kids had to dress up like the character in the book, this was as close as we got to Cassie's character.

Justin and I were not able to attend her Book Fair because we were both working but my uncle was able to go and see her. She brought a stuffed dog, a few dog treats and a leash to go along with her poster board. He said she looked really cute. I was glad he was able to attend.

On the same day Jaina's book report was due Jolee had a career day parade. Jolee brought home a paper that she had to draw what she wants to be when she grows up on it. Since she was a baby she has always said when she grows up she wants to be a "nurse doctor" that takes care of all the babies. Thinking that's what she was gonna say I ask her "Jolee what do you want to be when you grow up.............." her response... a crossing guard, haha!
So that's what she drew and that's what she went as in the career parade. Justin had a crossing guard vest and then I made her a stop sign. She was SO excited to go to school that morning and show her teacher her crossing guard outfit.
My uncle attended the career parade since we were working and he said it was really cute to see all the kids dressed up in their little outfits.

Here they are both ready to go to school.

Jaina was so excited when I picked her up from school. She said Uncle Allie stayed at the school and ate lunch with her and then took her to the book fair and bought her the Dr. Kitty Cat series. She says Thank You!

Haha! Photo bombed!
