Missing a Tooth

Yesterday a package arrived in the mail for Jaina. It was a box full of buttons! A lot of buttons!
This Thursday Jaina has 100 day at school. The teacher ask that the kids come to school dressed in a shirt that has 100 things on it. To celebrate being in school for 100 days. This year we chose buttons!
Last year I glued 100 pom poms on her shirt and it was heavy and sagging on her. I'm hoping this year goes a little better.
I sent out a Facebook shout out to all my friends asking if anyone had any extra buttons to spare and sure enough Cathy, Tim's ex wife had some to spare. She boxed them up and sent them our way. Tonight I went and got her a blue shirt so now all I need to do is sew the buttons on.
Cathy also sent us some Keeno's Beef Jerky. It was SO good! Yum!
Since my parents were in town this weekend Justin and I decided to sneak away last night to go have dinner together without yelling at kids the entire time we're eating. We decided on Texas Roadhouse. I'm obsessed with their green beans! So good!
We ended up just coming home after dinner. We were both tired and wanted to just climb in bed and go to sleep.
While we were out to dinner my mom sent us this picture. Jaina lost ANOTHER tooth! I couldn't believe it. Pretty soon she's not gonna have any left, lol
My mom said she was so proud and excited. She had her tooth and pillow ready for the tooth fairy when we got home.

Basketball Cheer

Last night Jaina got to cheer at the Salado varsity basketball game. She was SO excited! And doesn't she look adorable by the way
She got to practice one day last week after school for three hours and then they practiced right before the game
Here they are at practice
We were all there to cheer her on. Sissy, me, Justin my uncle and my mom and dad came all the way down to see her cheer. Doesn't Jolee's hair look adorable in her big bow talking to her PawPaw
Here are all the girls. There was a smaller group of girls compared to all the girls that cheer at the football game.
Jaina said she really likes cheer and would love to do more of it
We watched the first half of the game. Which was fun, I actually like watching basketball games. Salado got creamed though :(
We sat right by the girls. They did a couple cheers in the stand. Jolee wanted to dress just like her sister so I put one of Jaina's cheer shirts on her. She also wanted to go stand by her SO bad and cheer with her. Thankfully the girls let her sit with her sister. She had the biggest smile on her face. It was so sweet
Then it was half time. The girls got into position for there dance
And here it is! The greatest 15 seconds ever! I loved it and she did so good. We are proud of her!

Day by Day

Going back to work has been some what of an adjustment. I work 10 days straight and then I have a 4 day weekend (mini vacay). I actually really like working this schedule because having 4 days off in a row is nice and if we want to go on vacation I don't have to use to many of my personal days. But let me tell ya working 10 days in a fast pace environment is exhausting. Very exhausting. I thought the mornings would be hard for me to get up since I'm NOT a morning person BUT I actually like getting up early and starting my day off right. Its the night time that's got me all whacked out. As soon as I get home all I want to do is take a shower and hop in the bed at 7pm. And that's not me! I'm usually a night owl so I'm trying to adjust as much as I can. Hence the reason why I'm not blogging as much. I'm just exhausted and don't have the energy to blog even though it doesn't take that long.
Just bare with me, I'll still post blogs about the daily life of the girls but most likely not everyday like I use to when I was a SAHM. So we are just living day by day. We are still around. I still take pictures of the girls I just usually save it all up to write a couple posts in a row.

Here is Jaina tonight. She wanted to make me a turkey with her new art kit she got for Christmas. She also made me a green apple
I noticed the other day how much her drawing and coloring skills have improved over the year. I'm very impressed!
Jolee wanted to draw me a picture too. I guess its a flying bird, lol
A big smile for the camera!
Jaina has also improved so much on her reading. Her teacher said she is one of the faster readers in her class and she is now reading "chapter" books
Jolee being a ghost!

A small project

I blow dried Jaina and Jolee's hair tonight. Look how long Jolee's hair is getting!
Over the weekend Justin did a little home honey to do project for me.
I noticed my friend Leah had her husband put knobs on her cabinets and then noticed we didn't have any on ours. I thought why not put some on ours and dress them up a bit
I happened to be up stairs in our attic and came across these knobs my sister was getting rid of and let me have a few years ago. They were all brand new still in the bag and went perfect with my kitchen decor
I had almost enough but still need to buy a few more to finish
Here are the cabinets with the knobs. A few are still missing that I still have to go and buy. See, so much better. A little touch and it dressed them up

Here is a couple of things Jaina has been learning in school
Christmas snowman
"Go Away Big Blue Monster"
Jaina's house

And Jolee brought her Humpty Dumpty paper home today

A day at the Austin Aquarium

Since I had the weekend off I wanted to do something really fun for the girls so we decided to take them to the Austin Aquarium. They were so excited to go!
The place was not too big but it was just right for their attention span. We were very pleased and had a ton of fun!
Here are the girls when we first walked in. They were so excited looking at all the cool fish
Jaina and Captain Hook
Jolee said the Sea Horses were her favorite part of the Aquarium
It's hard to get Justin to come on adventures with me and the girls but this was right up his alley. He loved it as much as the girls did
Jaina said touching the Sting Rays was her favorite part of the Aquarium
Here she is touching them and she got to feed them too
They were having a blast
And there was even a live Mermaid!!! The girls loved her and I believe Justin did too!
Then they had two different kinds of birds that you can go in the cage to feed and hold them
This was right up Jaina's alley! She LOVES birds
Jolee got to hold a bird too
She was in Heaven can't you tell!
Here's a short clip of the girls with Justin each holding a bird
So cute!
I love this little picture of Jaina with such a happy smile on her face
If you know me I love birds but birds from a distance! I love having them in the back yard at home, in bird feeders and bird baths but I die when I have to get near them. My sister put her bird on top of my head once and I freaked out I thought I was gonna die!
A pretty pretty parrot
Then it was on to the shark tank
We purchased coins so the girls could get food to feed the animals. First they fed the Koi fish and ducks
Then they got to feed the tortuous
Believe it or not he was a pretty fast eater
Then they fed the sting rays
and the sharks before leaving
We were all starving so we went and had pizza at The Southside Flying Pizza joint on south congress
Then before leaving town we had to stop at Amy's Ice Cream to get the girls some Belgium chocolate ice cream.
Yum! You cant leave Austin without having a scoop of Amy's!
