Central Texas Rodeo

Today we headed out to the Central Texas Rodeo!
Here is Jaina in her get 'up
We had plans on going to the Czech West Fest but decided to keep it local and go 10 minutes up the rode instead of a hours drive.
And Jolee in her Get 'up
Justin's grandma got the girls their cowgirl outfits last time they were in town. Jaina is having a pony/cowgirl birthday party so these will be what the girls will wear. I thought since we were heading to the rodeo they could get some use out of them
We met my sister and her boyfriend Heath there.
We went this afternoon around 530 and it was still blazing hot outside.
Jaina got to feed the animals first
While her sister watched.
Soon Jolee will be able to do all the fun stuff like Jaina
They didn't really have all that much here at this rodeo. Just one small room of stuff, no show animals, and then the fair
Haha one vendor tried to get Jaina to like this gypsy outfit but she was too embarrassed
The first ride she wanted to ride was the ferris wheel. Justin went with her
Then we got her a pass to ride as many rides as she wanted
She was having a blast!
We took an eating brake.
We had bbq sandwiches, fried chips, chili cheese fries and we tried fried Twinkies, oreos and fried nutter butter cookies. You cant go to the fair and not try something fried. The food truck said "our items are calorie and fat free, NOT" haha. Ummm but I'll say the Twinkies were probably better then the fried cookies.
Then my sister and Heath left and we rode a few more rides.
This roller coaster was her favorite. Can you tell it in her face? lol
Then daddy won her a prize. He played the base ball game where you brake a plate with the base ball. He knocked down 4 plates so she got to choose either a medium size stuffed animal or a hat.
Well she choose the pig hat, lol
By 9pm we were all exhausted and headed home. We all had a great time.

Shopping day with my girls

Today was our only chance to go school clothes shopping for miss thang! I know a lot of you are probably thinking MDO isn't school and not a big deal but it is to us! Since she hasn't been back to daycare in almost 3 years its like starting over.
I really enjoyed our sweet day we had together. I loved watching her pick out clothes that she liked. She got a bunch of winter clothes from grandma and for her birthday but its still a 1000 degrees outside and she needed a couple new summer items.
She found this onesies and HAD to have it. She begged me to get it. I told her it was too hot outside for something like that to wear at night but she insisted I get it for her. I have no idea why she likes them, lol but she does! I guess that make her feel like a baby.
I missed the bucket on buying clothes because there was nothing but winter clothes out. We went to the mall and managed to find some cute things.
We also had soccer gear on our list.
I got an email from her coach explaining everything that she needs. I have no clue about soccer but she's been begging us to let her play soccer since last year. I wasn't a sports gal at all growing up so this is all new to me. She is on a team of 5! They are the youngest out of the league and their uniforms are Gold. She will have practice once a week and their first game is in 2 weeks! I hope she likes it!
She couldn't wait to go outside and kick the ball with her daddy.
Jolee had to come outside and watch
while eating crackers
Jaina and Justin went down to Skyler's for awhile to play soccer so while they were gone I got out her back pack and lunch box. I wanted to surprise her. She has been saying that she doesn't want to go to school and when she saw I had to buy her a nap mat to take with her to MDO she was not happy
I got her back pack last summer in Houston. I saw it at a monogram shop and HAD to buy it for her. Then when we were in Tennessee we were at another monogram shop and I found her a matching lunch box! I have been saving them to surprise her when she started school
When she came back from Skyler's she saw them and was SO excited!
When we were eating dinner tonight she told Justin that she was so excited to go to school now! Ahhhh yay my plan of clothes shopping and her back pack worked! I'm happy that she is finally ready to go to school on Tuesday

A day at the zoo

This morning we met my friend Rosie and her twins Harper and Hunter at the Waco zoo. We decided to go right when they opened so it wouldn't be so hot.
We had the whole entire park to ourselves
Jaina was excited to see all the animals. I've been taking her here since she was a baby. Its a fairly small zoo that you can walk in an hour and be done.
That's right up my alley, lol.
I took Jaina during her birthday last year when Jolee was just barley 2 months old. This time she was a little more intrigued at the animals
Today was the twins birthday.
They ran around the park with Jaina.
Jaina said this was her favorite animal out of the entire park, lol. She said "because he's cute"
Jaina is old enough now that she will say "mom take my picture"
It was nice going first thing when they opened because all the animals had just ate and were playful. We watched 3 baby tigers play, splash in the water and fight over a stick. It was cute! Jaina enjoyed watching them
She wanted me to take this picture with her, lol
We stayed for about 2 hours. We let them play at the small park they have at the end of the zoo.
It was just two dang hot to stay any longer. We were all sweating bullets. I''m so glad we decided to go early when the weather was nice.
We went by the fire station to see Justin before heading home. We spent the rest of the day indoors!

She's Back!

Today we got up early and headed to DFW airport to pick up Jaina!
Here she is ready to leave Tennessee to head back to Texas
Grandma said she was ready to go!
We were all anxious to see her. I'm glad they had a safe flight.
The girls were both glad to see each other and hugged each other and just laughed
Jaina was SO excited to get to go to Aunt Shirley's house
And I was SO glad to have my baby back in my arms
Jolee got a new puppy. She loved, hugged, kissed on it and sucked its nose
We headed straight over to Aunt Shirley's house. Jaina said she knew where she lived because she has "those flower things" in front of her house. Meaning these wood flowers in this basket
She plays with them every time we are here.
We then went and ate Mexican food and came back to rest before heading back home
Aunt Shirley with Dorothy and the girls. See Aunt Shirley's red hair, that's where Jolee gets her hair from. Dorothy said all 10 of her brothers and sisters had red hair
The girls were so tired. Jolee only slept 30 minutes in the car and then screamed the rest of the way home. She's not the best car rider.....at all, lol
Though her sister is a wonderful car rider!
Jaina was so happy to be back home. She couldn't wait to get in her room and play with her barbies and put her cowboy hat on
Jolee was happy to have someone to play with again
Here are some pictures of Jaina's adventures while in Tennessee
Playing Putt-putt
Dorothy said the weather was in the 70's the entire time they were there and in the 60-50's at night. Ha! Must be nice, I'm defiantly ready for some cooler weather here in central Texas
They have a huge Christmas store in Pigeon Forge
Dorothy said she got to take her picture with a real Santa Claus!
I will have to post it tomorrow. She loves Santa
I could spend all day in this one store
Eating ice cream
They also went to Gatlinburg to shop. Dorothy bought the girls some of the cutest outfits for the winter. She also came home with a new barbie doll, pet puppy, and a bunch of little trinkets. And she brought me a lollipop kit! Hopefully those will go alot smoother then the cake pops, lol
Santa at the Christmas store
At the old fashion diner eating a giant Sunday!
Grandpa Rick with Jaina
She said she got to swim alot at the hotels they stayed at.
Here she is swimming at the pool in Cherokee
They spent the last two days of her trip in Cherokee, NC. Jaina has Cherokee blood. Dorothy's great-great grandfather was a Cherokee Indian Chief. He's registered and everything! I think that's super cool!
Here is Jaina dancing with a true Cherokee Indian
Jaina with a big black bear
With another Cherokee indian
Indian dancing
Shopping in Cherokee
While Jaina was busy we kept ourselves busy as well
We went to Skyler's birthday party on Saturday at the bowling alley. I didn't Jaina that we were going or that she missed it because I knew she would have been so upset. It was a ninja turtle birthday party. I swear I've never seen so many hyper little boys in my life, lol. Makes me thank God for my 2 little girls. They were wild!
It rained alot while Jaina was gone so we spent alot of time inside.
It wasn't too bad, it gave us an excuse to be lazy
Jolee found a new love for bean bags!
And here she is playing a song for everyone
Jaina had an awesome time!
I'm glad she has the opportunity to make such wonderful memories with her great-grandma and grandpa. I know the memories I spent with my granny growing up were some of the best memories I have and cherish them dearly and think about them almost too often.
She had such a good time and talked about it on the way home.
She can't wait to go back next year!
