Twinkle the Tooth Fairy

For the last year or so Jaina's spacer has been bothering her. She had a spacer put in because she had a baby root canal done when she was around six. They put the spacer in so her other teeth wouldn't shift and over lap each other. I took her in to the dentist a few times to see what they could do about her spacer hurting her and they said they couldn't do anything for her. She would just have to wait until the tooth fell out. Well during our recent dentist trip the dentist said she should be getting ready to loose that tooth.
Well guess what? When I picked her up from school on Thursday she had wiggled her tooth out! She said it hurt and wouldn't stop bleeding but she was all smiles and giggles when I picked her up. She had to tell me all about it. She said she went to the 3rd grade bathroom and just yanked it out! Then had to go to the nurse because it wouldn't stop bleeding.
Can you tell she was wild and excited about loosing her tooth?!
Crazy nut! Lol
That night I read her, Twinkle the Tooth Fairy book.
I was so excited because I found this book awhile back and have been patiently waiting for one of them to loose a tooth so I could read them the story.
After I finished reading Jaina the story I gave her the purple bag to put her tooth in and then she asked me if the Tooth Fairy was real.
I was a little sadden about her asking me that. Only because I knew the kids at school probably told her that.
Next she will be asking me if Santa is real.....
I told her that if she wanted the Tooth Fairy to come and leave her a surprise then she would just have to believe :)
The next morning Jolee came screaming down the hall that the Tooth Fairy left Jaina some coins! I said "Really!" and Jolee said, "Yeah she really did mom, she really came!"

Let me see those pearly whites

Monday both girls had dentist appointments for check ups. Jaina also said her spacer was bothering her so I had the dentist check that as well.
Jolee was playing just fine while we were waiting for our turn and then all of a sudden got really quiet and started tearing up. I asked her what was wrong and she just shook her head.
We all went back and Jolee continued to cry. She HATES the dentist. Ever since she was a baby she has cried and screamed every time. The nurses tried calming her down by showing her all the instruments they were going to use and how they were going to use them. It seemed to help a little. The nurse even made her laugh a few times.
Jaina on the other hand loves the dentist. She hoped right on the chair and let them get started right away. Jaina had a good report. The dentist said she should be loosing her molars in the next year or two and her spacer will come out when she looses the molar. Other then that she had a great cleaning and was able to finish early and get a prize from the treasure chest.
While Jaina was getting her teeth cleaned Jolee was crying and shacking with terror in the other seat.
The dentist came over and got started. I thought I would step to the back to see if that helped so she couldn't see me and it worked! Once I was out of sight she stopped crying and ended up letting the dentist complete her whole cleaning AND even take x-rays.
The dentist, nurse and I were so proud of her! She was even proud of herself! She did so good the dentist let her pick out 3 prizes from the treasure chest.
Jolee ended up having a pretty good report except for a few spots that may end up cavities but the dentist said if she works really hard on flossing they may not turn into cavities.

TAE & SIS Open House

Tonight was the girls Open House. They were both so excited and couldn't wait to go.
Our first stop was down the Kindergarten hall to Mrs. Jones class
Can you tell Jolee was just a little bit excited :)
We went in and she showed us were she sits and then showed us all the papers, pictures and projects she has been working so hard on in class.
We also went on a little scavenger hunt that the teacher had for us to do while we were there.
Her teacher Mrs. Jones is super nice. We really like her. She said Jolee is just the sweetest little girl and has been doing a really good job in class.
Then Jolee showed us her cubby where she stores all her papers.
She was just so excited. I lit up watching all the excitement she had while we were there. She also took us and showed us her classes were she learns math and science.
Then it was Jaina's turn at the SIS building down the 3rd grade hall.
She was very excited to show her Daddy her locker.
She showed us her desk and all the projects she has been working hard on too. She was very excited about her "Dragon Taco" she made.
Then a picture with her teacher Mrs. Stevens.
Her teacher is very sweet and nice as well. Jaina really likes her. Jaina loves the fact that she's almost as tall as her. Her teacher said Jaina is a great student, is a hard worker and is never afraid to ask for help if she needs it.
Then she took us by her reading and writing class (her favorite class). She had to show us the book she has been reading, "Who is Dolly Parton"
Our last stop was the library and a picture in front of the "Wonder" book. Every student from 3rd to 6th grade got a free copy of the "Wonder" book. The whole SIS school will be reading this book together before the movie comes out.
She was SO excited that she had to get a jump start on reading it tonight. She loves to read!!
We are so proud of all the hard work both girls have been doing in class so far this year!

This Weeks Rambles

A week or so ago Justin, the girls and I all stayed the night out at my uncle's house. We went and ate at Ratibor. There is a little restaurant inside this bar that sells the BEST chicken fried chicken. Justin got their chicken fried steak and said it was one of the best chicken fry that he's ever eaten.
Yummm!
While our realtor was showing our house we had to make sure the dogs were out of the house. We spent two whole days hauling the dogs around in our cars. They loved it! All we have to say is "You wanna go for a ride" and out the door the dogs go.
Jolee in her little dress up cop outfit.
Hehe!
The girls and I met my uncle one evening at a new place called MOD Pizza. It was really good with fresh ingredients. After dinner I treated the girls to a Lily Cake or cupcake that is.
Lily Cake was featured on the show Cupcake Wars and they won!
I will have to admit I do like Small Cakes in Temple better.
Boo! I see a unicorn :)
Well I cut my hair....and colored it.
I went back brown for the fall and winter but don't worry blondie will come back around in the spring time.
I didn't go too short. Just shoulder length. I needed to cut off the dead ends and something that's low maintenance.
Ha!
My hair is so thick it will never be low maintenance.
Isn't this just the sweetest picture of Jolee doing her homework. I was so proud of her, she came in, read her books to me and then practiced her H's all without complaining.
That makes for a happy Momma!

School Lunch

Yesterday morning Jaina asked if I would come eat lunch with her. Of course!
Here they are as I dropped them off in the morning. Jaina was walking Jolee to the library every morning but Jolee said "No, Jaina I got this". So now Jolee walks herself.
My uncle called to see if I wanted to eat lunch with him but instead he came and ate lunch with me and the girls.
Jolee was SO excited to see us! Can't you tell?!!
She eats lunch early....at 10:45 a.m.
We brought both girls Subway. We enjoyed eating lunch with her for the first time as a Kindergartner.
After she was done I took her in the lunch line and bought her some ice cream.
A vanilla cup that is.
Then we waited forever it seems like for Jaina's turn. She eats lunch at 12:00 p.m.
After Jolee left we just waited at the table until we saw Jaina.

She enjoyed her lunch and then Allie bought her a Spirit Stick.
Then it was our turn for ice cream. Allie said his crunch bar was awesome, haha.
I usually eat lunch with the girls 3 or 4 times a year. It was great to see them so happy during lunch. I know it makes them feel special.
After lunch I ran errands until it was time to pick up the girls from the after school program. Isn't Jolee's outfit cute!
Jaina said "Moooom, why are you taking my picture", lol  Because I can! I'm your mother!!!Oh the joys of being a parent, lol!

Groupie's

Last weekend actor Gary Sinise (from the movie Forrest Gump) came out to the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery to speak at the wreath kick off.
So of course Brenda and I had to go so we could get our picture taken with him.
There he is! The program started with a few speakers and a few songs then Gary spoke for about 5 minutes.
Then off the stage he went.
No pictures or autographs! I was appalled! LOL
But we were walking behind him like some crazy stalker fans, lol.
Don't worry I got my picture with him :)
We caught a picture of him signing a motorcycle and then off in the vans he went to Fort Hood.
As he was leaving he did wave to us! So that was good enough for us :)
We had a great time meeting Gary Sinise, LOL

This Old House

So this happened......
Yes, our house is officially for sale!
It's crazy to think that our house is actually on the market. It's bittersweet, I'm excited about our new adventure and I'm also sad and emotional to leave all these memories behind.
So the last few months I more then Justin have been wanting to move. We have lived here almost 9 years. This house has come a long way since we first bought it. I can still remember the first day we came and saw it. We both fell in love with it. We had no ties here in Salado but knew this was the right house for us. We had no clue what the next 9 years would bring us and all the memories and friends we would share it with

What I LOVED about this house was that Jaina was just 4 months old and her room would be right across from us. So we bought our first home.
We moved in February. I remember it like it was yesterday. We were both SO excited that THIS was OUR home!
We didn't have much furniture. A couch, a box tv and tv stand, a big brown dining room table, stuff for the nursery and our bed. That was basically it. Over time we painted and repainted, lol. Bought furniture, put in new floors and fixed up each room.
We dug a garden and bought a shed, stained the deck and built flower beds.
We brought home Jaina, Jolee, Dixi, Otis, Tiny and Rusty all to this house.
We made a ton of memories. We loved in this house, we fought in this house, we have cried in this house and we have laughed in this house. This house will always mean a lot to our little family of 4.
Over the years we have out grown this house. The space is getting a little cramped as we all get older. The girls will soon be teenagers sooner then we know and then we will all want a little more space.
This house has been good to us but there is always toys laying everywhere. I have always had to "find" a place for my stuff and we have had to make this house doable over time.
I've always said I LOVE our property, neighbors and neighborhood but this house is one room to short.
If I could put our new house on this property and stay here forever I would! If this house were laid out differently now that the girls are older I would stay here forever but unfortunately that is not the case.
We have ran out of space in this house and it was time to start looking.
Back in the spring we started dabbling at the thought of moving. Neither one of us were really sure we wanted to move. But toyed with the idea of building. We spoke with a few builders and even made floor plans for our future house. We found some land and the perfect lot to build. But it all just seemed so far away.
We wanted something now. But the problem with Salado is that it's a fairly new developing town even though its been here forever. The housing market here is hard to come by and expensive!

I would search every night before I went to bed and every day when I got a chance
And nothing new would pop up
So we thought we would just wait until the right one came along our way.
Where God saw fit.
And then last week this house popped up. Our realtor sent us all the info and it was the right price. We are so excited we will be calling this new home ours!
This all happened while I was out of town at my parents house. Justin went and looked at it first and said he actually really liked it. So I told him I trusted him and to put a bid on it. So he did and the owners accepted!
Saturday when I got home I went and saw it. It was JUST what we were wanting. It had everything in it that we were going to build in our dream home. It is a 4 bedroom 2 bath, split floor plan. It has an office, garage, large bathroom with a garden tub, a fireplace, a big backyard and best of all a pantry!
What I am most excited about with this new house is that everything will have it's place! I will no longer have to make a space for something. I will get my "craft" room which will also be a guest bedroom. The girls will both have their own rooms with big closet space. They will both have their own bathroom sinks which is a plus when they become teenagers. Justin will have his office he has always wanted and I will get my garden tub that I've always wanted. And we might even have room to get a piano since Jaina will be starting piano lessons this year.
A few things that I am trading in for our new house is that the living room, kitchen and dining area seem a little smaller then the one at our current house. The decorating space in these three areas are very limited then what I am use to but that's okay. It will be something I will adjust to. Who knows maybe I won't need all those decorations anymore or maybe once we get into the house I will have more space then I thought.
Some of our current furniture will need to go, like our tv stand and my beloved green hutch and a few end tables I have. We won't be needing those anymore. So I guess out with the old and in with the new.
Our bedroom will be smaller then our current one but that's no problem at all because we won't be needing the computer in our room any longer. Plus I'd rather trade all these spaces for a 4th bedroom.
I'm excited to start new memories here and am excited what the future holds. I don't see this being our forever home but just a home to get us by for the next 5 to 10 years.
Saturday I rushed home because Justin said our realtor wanted to see our house on the market on Monday! That meant I basically had one day to clean the entire house.
You talk about panic mode!
I came in and somehow got it all done.
Monday our realtor came out to take pictures and it was put on the market that evening. She said she wanted our house sold by the end of the week. Knowing that our house would be the cheapest on the market in Salado at $212,000 she said we would have no problem selling it.
Tuesday we had 6 showings and one person gave us a cash offer. It wasn't what we were wanting so we turned it down.
Wednesday we had 3 more couples come and look at the house. Another offer but this time it was for the full amount.
We accepted!
If all goes accordingly we should be all moved in by October 16th. That's one month from now. We have slowly started packing and can't wait to get to our new place. I'm sure some tears will be shed on the last night we are here but everything all works out the way it's suppose to :)
I'm ready for our new adventure!
