January in a Nutshell

Life in January just kinda bites. I dislike cold weather. When it's cold outside all I want to do is lounge around or cuddle up in bed. And I think Dixie feels the same way.
Girl Scout cookies.....oh Girl Scout cookies.
I'm down to two cases.
I'm ready for the season to be over already, lol. We started out with 22 cases and we are down to two.
We have started our World Thinking Days poster last week at Girl Scouts. Our country the girls are learning about is the Bahama's.
And this about sums up January.
We are ready for February!

I see a Penny

You may wonder what Jolee is doing under this basket. Well she's riding underneath so she can find money!
She likes to rides this way because it makes it easier for her to spot coins underneath the shelves at the store.
If she sees a shiny coin she will say "MOM! Stop! I see a penny!" And if she finds a quarter she will say "Look I found a big one!"
She always finds money, especially at Wal-mart. Here she is looking under the shelf finding two pennies.
This day she found .21 cents. One day she found .92 cents. I told Justin I need to start her a side piggy bank just for the money she finds at the store. She would be rich in no time!

21 Weeks

At 21 weeks I am still feeling a little under the weather. I believe I ended up with just a bad head cold but am on the upward side to feeling better. My energy level has been pretty high. Enough for me to make another trip to Austin to buy a few things for the baby.
My belly is starting to itch more from all the stretching. I am trying to keep lotion on it as much as I can. I am also starting to develop the ol pregnancy line down my belly. I've had some heart burn this week and my lower back is starting to ache more and more. The swelling and numbness is still in my hands and wrists and won't go away. I've kinda gotten use to it and hardly notice the numbness even though it's there.
I've had a few weird cravings this week. I inhaled almost an entire bag of chocolate cranberries. I also have been wanting, dried cranberries and cranberry juice. Another is Subway. For some reason Subway has been a stable in this pregnancy.
The baby is starting to have her own little patterns. She tends to kick around at night before I go to bed, mid morning and mid afternoon. I have also had lots of flutters as well. Her kicks are defiantly getting stronger.
And I think we are 90% sure of her name
Jewell Ann Veal
I've been buying things here are there. I have her crib, bedding for the crib and mattress. I also have been buying lots of Christmas and winter clothes for next year as I see it go on sale. We are totally starting from scratch. I gave everything away of the girls years ago so being able to buy little baby girls things is fun. I can't wait to see her in some of the things I have bought her. I am getting super excited for her to be here already. I keep trying to imagine what she will look like, what color hair she will have and what kind of baby she will be.
June can't get here fast enough!

It's Girl Scout Cookie Time Again

It's that time again! The girls are selling Girl Scout cookies!
Cookie season is the biggest thing the girls will do in Girl Scouts all year. Selling Girl Scout cookies helps pay for their end of the year camping trip, pay for their badges and patches, helps pay their dues, and for all of their crafts and learning supplies throughout the year.
It also teaches them to learn how to be smart business women, teaches them about money, how to count change, encourages them to sell and speak to the public and teaches them how to have fun!
During cookie season the girls are required to participate in atleast one cookie booth. Booth are separate then what they sell on their own. The sells from the booth do go towards their personal cookie goal.
So today we headed to Temple and set up with another mom and daughter from the older troop in front of Menchies Frozen Yogurt.
It was a hard day to sell. It was Sunday evening, there was no traffic and it was cold. We didn't do as good as last year. I think we only sold around 20 boxes which then had to be split between three girls.
But they had fun the two hours we were there. The girls took turns holding the signs and waving at cars. Jaina even through in some dance and athletic skills every now and then, lol.
Even though we didn't sell a lot the girls still had fun and did their share at the cookie booth.

A Fun Day in Austin

Monday the girls were out of school so I took the day off from work to go have a day of fun with them.
We headed to the Austin Aquarium. We have been once before several years ago. Jolee didn't remember going so I thought we would go again.
Sweet sisters holding hand ready to go.
The Austin Aquarium is not that big but there is plenty to see and do.
We looked at all the fish first.
Then we headed to the sting rays. We all got to pet them. Jolee said they are fuzzy.
We were having fun.
Haha, Jaina doesn't like being "silly" in front of people especially strangers because she gets embarrassed to easily but after convincing her she joined in on the shark fun.
My beautiful pearls :)
They are defiantly one of a kind
Jolee the octopus

Then they brought out the snake and Jolee actually wanted to pet the snake. She was scared to pet the sting rays but wasn't afraid to pet the snake, lol.
Allie was brave enough to hold it around his neck for a quick photo opt
Then we went in the bird cage to hold some birds and pet an iguana
Jaina waited forever for a bird to finally land on her finger
She was SO excited!
Here's Jolee feeding the turtles lettuce
Holding another bird

After a few hours we were hungry and headed over to Chuy's for some yummy lunch
Our next stop was to the Austin Nature and Science Center
It's a big place full of didn't things like rocks, fossils, insects, small animals and lots of things to learn.
Jaina weighing rocks
Looking at the different butterflies through a magnifying glass
Ha!
Haha!
Then we walked around the bird sanctuary. They had lots of different animals that told stories about how they came to live at the nature center. It was pretty interesting.
Having fun on such a nice winter day
Then we headed to the dinosaur pit
To dig for dinosaur bones.
Jolee was having fun digging.
My beautiful unicorn
We headed out right before they closed
Our next stop was for a yummy treat at Amy's Ice Cream.
And our last stop before heading home was to Sam Moon for some shopping.
