We made it to the playoffs.
We have mixed emotions about playoffs, only because Jaina is a twirler and not a football player, I guess it hits us differently since she's not actually playing football. We are excited that they have made it this far, but dang we are kinda over going to these games every week. Lol it's a lot.
I know next year it will be a little different especially because it will be her senior year and every moment will be bittersweet. But anyways we are grateful she can be a part of these games, and we are taking it week by week.
The first playoff game is near San Antonio, TX in Converse, TX. We are playing against Pearsall.
We took the girls out of school at 1:30 and headed for San Antonio.
Jolee did not want to go. I told her she could go to a friend's house, but all her friends were busy, so she had no choice but to come with us, but she was pretty content with going. Here she is making that dang face again, lol
We stopped in Kyle and ate at Lupe Tortilla's Mexican restaurant. It was yummy. We enjoyed our dinner and was not rushed. Then we headed on to the stadium.
When the game started, we made the first two touch downs with in the first couple of minutes. We knew this would be a blowout game. Poor Pearsall did not even stand a chance. I felt actually really bad for their team.
About 30 minutes into the game Jewell started crying saying her tooth was hurting her (back right molar that is cracked).
One thing about this child is that she doesn't hardly ever whine about anything, nor cry about nothing. Even when she was a baby when she would fall or get hurt, she would hardly ever cry. But man, I knew she was in pain. She was holding on to her mouth, crying, whining, wiggling around, saying she wanted to go home, I mean out of control crying. I brought some medicine with me; I took her out to the car and gave her some. Thinking that would do the trick and it didn't, like at all.
I waited until halftime to see Jaina perform.
Jaina did good as always. After halftime I took Jewell to the car. Thinking she would lay down on the backseat and go to sleep boy I was wrong. She was in full on panic mode, crying, pulling at her mouth and saying her tooth makes her want to die which then scared me thinking I needed to take her to the emergency room but knew they wouldn't be able to do anything for her. So, I texted Justin and said we needed to leave now.
When they came out to the car there was 2 minutes left, the final score was 49-6. Pearsall got one touch down at the very end of the game with 2 minutes remaining. As soon as we left, we headed straight for CVS, I bought and gave her some Tylenol and bought some numbing oil. When I was looking in her mouth, I noticed her 6-year molars broke through on the right bottom side of her mouth. I bet it's not her tooth I bet it's her molars trying to break through her gum on that side.
After the Tylenol she started to calm down a bit and finally fell asleep in the car on the way home.
Once we got home, I got her settled in the bed. She was up and down several times during the night. She got in bed with us, then I got in bed with her, needless to say neither one of us got very much sleep.
When we woke up in the morning, she said her tooth wasn't really hurting her anymore. The pain comes in waves and is worse at night. Justin is going to take her first thing Monday morning to check to see if she has a tooth infection or just her molars coming it so we shall see. Hopefully she made it through the hardest part, and she won't be in as much pain after seeing the dentist.
