A birthday and a pinic

Yesterday I took the girls to church.
Jaina got to go to Sunday school and play in the nursery while I was in big church.
After church we headed to Temple to see Justin at the fire station. We came all the way into town just to tell him we loved him and happy birthday!
I couldn't have asked for a better man to be married to. He is such a good father to our babies, helps around the house when he can, provides us with everything we need, works hard and takes care of us.
He's also a wonderful husband who makes me laugh, I have fun with, who I've seen grow over the years and take on lots of responsibility to provide us with a great life and he's my best friend. Someone who I joke around with, tell everything to, whether its great news, sad things or just flat out dumb he listens to it all.
I want to wish him a Happy 31st birthday!!!!
We all love you!
After we got back from the station we spent almost the entire afternoon outside in the back yard working on plants. I finally planted my hydrangea I bought weeks ago. Poor thing was all shriveled up. Today it looks happy and healthy again.
My dad brought me a ton of old garden pots my parents had. I found this cute idea on pinterest. Now all I need to do is plant my flowers.
Jaina was in one of her moods yesterday and did not want to come outside, instead she was happy cleaning out Jolee's bottles.
Jolee stayed the entire afternoon outside in her walker until she nearly fell asleep on it. She loves being outside
Jaina hasn't bounced much on her blow up trampoline so I filled it with water and she had a blast!
Today we headed out to my uncle's house.
We had a picnic outside in the back yard. He grilled hot dogs and hamburgers.
It was such great weather today and I heard its suppose to get down to the 40's on Thursday. So weird! I've NEVER imagined cold weather in May!!
We ran into Cameron and then came back to a surprise for Jaina. My uncle (AKA Stoney) gave Jaina this fashion closet she's been eyeing at the store.
She was so excited!!! She has been playing with it ever since.

Date night/Birthday Date

This month we combined Justin's birthday with our date night.
For April's date we were suppose to go to Austin to a comedy club, have dinner and stay the night but we've done so much this month that we just wanted to stay around here and do something.
So I had a secret day of fun set up for him. I didn't tell him what we were doing and kept it a secret. I planned for us to have a couple's massage, pedicures and have dinner. Just a day of relaxation.
Justin doesn't really like secrets and they make him nervous and apprehensive. I told him just to get in the car and enjoy the ride.
We dropped the girls off at my sisters for the day and drove to the spa. When we got there he was not happy. He said he didn't want NO women touching his body and massages arnt for men! Ha!
I told him to chill and that he would love it and want to come back for more. The massage therapists came to our room and got us set up. I have had many massages before so it was no big deal to me but Justin was asking his girl a million questions, lol. They brought us some champagne and then we got ready. We were in the same room together so that made him feel alot better. Then we got started and he was in Heaven. He loved it but talked the whole time we were in there! When we got done he was a little distorted with his thoughts, lol. He was pretty relaxed.
I wanted to get pedicures next but he said he had to draw the line somewhere :(
I told him I see men getting pedicures every time I go but he wouldn't budge so we went and ate at Texas Roadhouse.
I drove him home so he could go fishing and then headed to my sister's to pick up the girls. Jaina said they watched the movie Robots, ate popcorn and played doctor. She had a fun time.
I didn't get a picture of me and Justin on our date this time but here's a picture of a cute little girl :)

A party, toys and art

Today we had Justin's birthday party.
We originally had plans on having a big dinner with cake and having my uncle come over tonight but instead we had a big lunch. Justin had guard watch for the firemen who lost their lives in West, TX last week this evening.
We invited my uncle over for lunch and I fixed chicken Parmesan and had strawberry cake.
Well when you live in a house full of girls what kind of cake do you expect to get? A pink one, of course! Lol
I made homemade icing but failed to realize it would run right of the cake so by the time we sang happy birthday his letters had slid down his cake! lol
Jaina was SO excited to give daddy her gift. I let her pick out his card and she of course got one with a monkey dressed in a tutu. She thought it was hilarious.
She was SOOOOOOOOO excited to get him this "fishing net". I told her she could get him anything thing she wanted to and when she saw this net she said "oh mommy, daddy would love this to take with him when he goes fishing", lol so sweet and thoughtful.
He loved it!
The girls made him this plate for when he bbq's. Jaina put her hand prints all over it, I drew the face of the lion and it says "daddy is king of the grill".
It wasn't much but I always like to have Jaina make gifts to give to people to make her feel special.
Tomorrow is his 31st birthday.
I have an entire day planned for just he and I! I hope he enjoys it and relaxes!
We sang happy birthday and then ate lunch.
Justin wanted to take a nap so my uncle and I took the girls into town so he could get some quiet time in before he had to leave for West.
We went to the sculpture garden in town.
Its a walk through garden with about 20 different odd ball sculptures. I discovered it the other day driving to the recycling bin and thought Jaina would enjoy it.
She did for the most part until she saw a bug, yes a bug.
She is going through this phase of being scared of any type of bug no matter how big or small she will scream bloody murder.
As you can see she spotted one in the grass.
Imagine that, a bug in the grass!
she prayed I would take the picture quickly
Then ran for dear life
And ran straight out of the park, lol
We then headed to the park where she played tag with a little boy and then threw rocks in to the creek
Jolee was loving all the new scenery
She was having a ball!
Cute pic of my big girl
Then we walked around the park while it was misting outside.
It got real hot a muggy so we headed back to the car and drove back home
Tonight I got down my old box of toys from when I was a little girl.
My mom saved all my favorite toys I had.
Jaina is old enough now where she plays with toys and is careful with her toys about not breaking them so I decided to let her play with mine. I had tons of barbie stuff, some little people towns, bears and other stuff.
She was in hog heaven playing with all her "new" toys in her room
Jolee couldn't hang in there long enough to see her daddy come home. She passed right out at the dinner table.
Poor baby. So sweet

What a day

Today we met my uncle in town for lunch. After lunch we headed to the fire station to give Justin his Class B uniform to wear tomorrow to West, TX. He and his station will be standing for 24 hours at the head and foot end of the casket for one of his fallen brothers in the West, TX explosion. He has duty from 4pm-8pm.
Traditionally when a firemen dies their will be 2 men standing at the foot end and head end of the casket from the time the person is put in the casket until the time they are laid to rest. It is a great honor for them to do that. He said there is not enough volunteer fireman to help with the funerals so he said he might have to stay until Saturday morning but we will see.
So far this week Jaina hasn't done too well with her behavioral chart. She lost her privileges on the ipad yesterday and tonight she lost privileges for the tv. I think she thinks its a game because she is constantly talking about the sticks and wanting her stick to stay green. I explained to her several times of how she can keep her stick green. She really tried today but had a HUGE meltdown while we were in town and  misbehaved tonight while taking a bath. Ive been pretty good about her not having to change her sticks and have just talked to her several times and will say"Jaina lets not do that or you will have to change your stick".
I think after tonight when she had to go to bed without any t.v. tore her up really bad. She screamed and cried for about 20 minutes saying "I can't live with out it" to the tv, lol.
She finally cried herself to sleep.
I felt HORRIBLE for taking her tv away but she has to learn and I cant give in. I think after tonight she KNOWS that this is not a game!
Jolee is such a stinker. She still wants me to hold her bottle for her but she will if I make her. She  has finally got the hang of turning her bottle up so she can drink out of it, lol. Today she fed herself in the car. She wasn't to happy about it but she will have to learn sooner or later.
This is pretty much how I felt after being in town with two rowdy girls all day, lol
Tonight we came home and worked on daddy's birthday gifts. We are celebrating tomorrow for lunch before he heads to West.

Wednesday

Yesterday Justin and I spent our day relaxing in a very quiet house. It was almost too quiet. It was also cloudy and cold so it was a perfect day to do nothing.
Today I was ready to get out of the house and go pick up my babies.
I missed them!
Jaina screamed with excitement when I got to grandma's house. Jaina said they had a good time and celebrated grandma's birthday with home made brownies and pizza!
The girls were really restless when we got home. Jaina needed a nap so we girls laid in her bed and watched her new favorite movie "chocolate factory"Willie Wonka and the chocolate factory.
I'm glad to get a break every once and awhile but I'm glad to have them back home in my arms!

Have we been good today?

This morning my parents left and then I got the girls ready to go stay the night with Justin's mom. Yesterday was her birthday and she said she wanted to spend time with the girls for her birthday.

My dad brought me this hanging flower rack this weekend and I had Justin put it in the flower bed. I had plans to work on the flower beds today but a cold front blew in about 3pm this afternoon and it was freezing or it felt like it was! Its suppose to get down to 40 degrees tonight.
I just cant believe TEXAS is still experience cold weather in April. That's just crazy!
I also had plans on planting this pomegranate tree Justin's mom gave me but it will have to wait until it warms up again cause this girl just doesn't do cold weather
Tonight I made Jaina a behavior chart/pocket. Lately we have been experiencing some behavior issues with her. For the most part 90% of the day she is well behaved but there are times she will act out especially if we have visitors at the house. She thinks she can get away with more when there here.
I don't really have a discipline plan in place so I decided to make one. I figured out that yelling at her for her behavior doesnt work, spanking doesnt even phase her and time out is a joke to her. We did take her tv away one night and it was like bloody murder. So I thought I would set up a awards program with her.
So basically the idea is to start the day off with a green stick and stay with a green stick the whole entire day. If she is good all day she will get to choose from 15 minutes extra of computer/ipad time, a piece of candy, or something little to reward her with. If she has one slip up there is no extra reward at the end of the day. The ultimate is the red stick meaning no tv a night. Each time she misbehaves she will have to change her stick. Hopefully this works and doesn't become a game to her.
Wish us luck!!!!

Today

Today the girls stayed with my parents while I ran errands and got a few things done.
My main goal was to see if I could consign some of the baby clothes I didn't sell at our garage sale. We have two different consignment shops that mostly sell baby/toddler girl clothes. This was the first time I've tired consigning clothes. I was able to get store credit at both stores and ended up buying more clothes to replace the old ones, lol. The rest of the clothes I will probably end up donating or giving it to someone who has a girl.
This evening when I got home we watched Dancing with the Stars. Have yall been watching?
This season has been pretty predictable...dont yall think?
My top three picks are Kelly, Sean and Andy Dick (because he's fun to watch) It will be fun to see who wins this time around!
Other then that we have just been having an easy day with the grandparents.

Garage sale weekend

This has been a busy weekend for us.
Friday afternoon my parents came into town.
My mom brought Jaina a surprise. She got a bag of snacks, goodies and nail set.
She loved it!
That evening I packed my car to the rim with junk and headed to my friend Rosie's house for our annual garage sale. She lives right smack in the middle of town which is awesome for garage sales.
This is our 4th year to do one. I know I say each year that I will never have another one again but its crazy how much junk you accumulate in one short year.
Saturday I woke up bright and early and headed out for our garage sale while my parents kept the girls.
We were a little scared no one was going to come and it was going to be a flop but we ended up both doing really well. One of the big churches in town were having there annual garage sale along with one of the neighboring cities was having their annual city wide garage sale as well. But we had stragglers come to ours and buy all our crazy junk.
Its so weird to see what people will buy from you and then you wonder what there going to do with it.
We had fun because we sat outside in the cool weather drinking coffee and talking about kids, work and hair.
At the end of our sale we always swap crap that we don't sell and then we donate the rest to a local church in town. I swaped Rosie for this blow up trampoline. Jaina had fun bouncing on it. We could even fill it up with water and let her swim and bounce if she wanted too.
This afternoon me, mom and the girls had lunch and then met my dad over at my sister's house
(don't you love Jolee's strawberry bow to match her strawberry outfit)
The girls have enjoyed their time with their Mimi

We stayed at my sister's for awhile and let the girls play with Riley. Jaina stayed with my sister at her house and then came over later to our house for dinner
Justin was gone fishing allllll weekend.
My mom made a big dinner and had my uncle and sister over
I'm ready for a slow week now!
Hope everyone had a great weekend
