Let's go out

Last night after Justin got home from work we decided to go out for dinner.
I had to laugh because Justin swore that he wasn't going out to eat after the baby got here. But I will have to say going out with a new born and a 3 year old on a Sunday night is perfect! There was nobody there and we could be as loud as we wanted to.

Jolee and mommy
Ha! Grandpa Tim got this little outfit for Jolee.
I told Justin she looked like Curious George in her little yellow hat :)
Daddy and his girl
Daddy's three girls
We ate at one of our favorite mexican restruants in Belton.
Since we were the only one's in the restraunt we let Jaina get up and dance in the isle with her new light up shoes. After we ate we fed the ducks and then we headed home.
I told Justin for now on the only time we will ever be able to eat out as a family is Sunday nights, lol.

Random post with a pile of pictures

The other evening we headed to the park.
Jolee's first time to go with her big sister.
Jaina kept asking if Jolee could get out of her car seat and play with her.
She had a good time running around and playing
She even stopped and posed for a picture
Ha!
This is her "ugly cry"
In deep thought
How can children sleep like this?
Doesn't that hurt?
Jolee can already hold her own paci! (not really)
I try and think of activities I can do with Jaina during the day so she's not so bored here at the house. I found this idea on the Krazycouponlady website.
I happen to have a coupon for some free crayons and thought this was a great project for her and I to do together
Take a box of crayons, cut the paper off, and break them up into small pieces in a bowl
I happen to have this heart shaped candy mold so I used it for the crayons to melt in. You can also use cupcake wrappers or whatever else you can find. Then I had her fill the molds with different pieces of the crayons
Put them in the oven at 230 degrees for about 20 minutes
Pop them out and Wa-la!
New fun crayons!
She loved them!
When you use them on paper they color all different colors but she decided to use them like they were cookies and play with them
Grandma Do Do sent the girls a package.
They got new Halloween clothes, movies, color books, candy and make up
Jaina also got some new light up shoes or "rock star" shoes as she calls them

And finally a picture of my sleeping beauty

Twin Party and an Announcement

Today we attended my friend Rosie's twins birthday party.
Harper and Hunter turned 1!
They had a splash pad set up for the kids. It was such a cute idea. Jaina loved it and loved playing with Lily.

It was a little hot today but windy enough to have Jolee out in the sun light.
She slept right through the whole party.

The party was a One Thing and Two Thing themed party.
It was super cute.
They also had a pinata for the kids.
Jaina has never been to a party with a pinata and was a litte shy at hitting it so Kevin (Rosie's husband) had to help her hit it.
Then she went for it and hit it a couple times.
Finally after many many hits it busted open and the candy came it. Jaina was excited about her candy. Now she keeps asking if she can have a pinata at her birthday party
I let Jaina play a little bit longer with Lily in the splash pad before leaving.
Then we stopped at the fire station to see daddy.
I need to get baby Jolee's birth announcements out so we stopped by Wal-Mart before heading home. While we were there I had to change her diaper in the bathroom. When I picked her up out of her car seat she had poop all the way up her back!
AND
I failed to bring another set of clothes!! Ugh
The thought was in the back of my mind that I needed to do that just in case she ever has any accidents. I remember I always carried around an extra set of clothes for Jaina. I guess I learned my lesson! I will NEVER leave the house again without them!
Poor baby had to ride out of Wal-mart and home with just a diaper on!
Here is her announcement I made at Wal-mart today.
Family and friends yall should be receiving them sometime this week

When I was making Jolee's announcements today I got to thinking about Jaina's birth announcements. I pulled Jaina's out of the box tonight and was looking at how similar they are. Its like I cloned Jaina!!! I think she looks so much like Justin's baby pictures but then again when I look at Jaina they look identical. Ive had so many people tell me she looks just like Jaina and some people tell me she looks like Justin.
Ill have to do more comparison as she gets older.

By the way do they still do birth announcements in the newspaper or is that a thing of past?
I cant remember if we put one in the paper for Jaina or not.

First trip to the fire station

Jolee's had alot of her "first's" already!
Last week when Justin was working I had some errands to run in town so we stopped to see their daddy
She wasn't too excited about getting ready, lol

This was actually the first day I had the girls on my own. It wasn't to bad, I just had forgotten how hard it is to go anywhere with a baby. It literally took us all day to get ready and go but were getting the hang of it.

The guys were out of the station when we got there so we had to wait a bit in the car.
It didn't seem to bother this little girl, she slept the whole time.
Isn't she sweet :)

Me and my girls

The guys at the station loved seeing Jolee for the first time. They heard me complain alot about being ready to have her so they were finally happy to meet her. We talked awhile and they gave some great parenting tips too.
Proud Daddy!

First bath at home

We've been home for a couple days now but I still haven't been able to slow down yet. I can see why moms with more then one baby loose their weight so quickly. I've already lost 20 pounds! another 16 to go, plus I'd like to loose more then that. With Jaina it took me forever to loose any weight and actually feel good about myself but this time its coming off quicker due to being so busy. Between nursing, taking care of Jaina and trying to get settled in its hard for me to even find anytime to eat.
I was giving myself 2 weeks before I start exercising again and now since Jolee is 2 weeks I'm gonna try and at least go waking in the evening until my 6 week appointment and my doctor gives me the okay to do some Insanity workouts or join cross fit, but feeling great overall. My goal is to be down 30 pounds by my 6 week appointment, hopefully I can achieve that.
We were advised by the nurse at the hospital to buy Jolee a sound machine.
Jaina never had one, we just played music for her and ran a fan at night but let me tell ya, this sound machine has been a lifesaver!!
I got it from Target, it has light on it and plays things like, rain, heartbeat and music. She LOVES the sound of the rain and falls asleep fast when I turn it on.
At first I was skeptical about it and if it really works but it does! I wish we had one when Jaina was little.
And yes I know the machine is in her bassinet, I move it once she's asleep.
Excuse the hot mess on the floor but that's our life right now, lol.
We had play time on the floor for the first time and she loved it.
I think Jolee liked watching Jaina play and move around
I Love this picture of them two looking at each other.

If your wondering about her ear mold it doesn't seem to bother her at all though she tends to sleep on her other ear
Happy baby!
She likes to be held alot. Jaina was always content just laying in her crib or bassinet. We tried putting Jaina in this swing as a baby and it was like putting her on a bed of pins and needles! I think she used it all of about two times.
Jolee seems to really like it. When she's bored of her bassinet I switch it up and put her in her swing.
We gave her, her first bath last weekend. Justin said he had to wear his ear phones to block out all her screaming, lol. He's wears them every time we give her a bath, lol
I will have to say she doesn't like taking a bath at all. She screams to the top of her lungs and its ear piercing!
We can't get her belly button wet or her ear mold wet. This was before her belly button fell out. We are giving her a bath in our sink for now until we get the okay to wash her belly button
Poor baby
I hope she learns to love taking a baby. It might be more exciting once her and sister take one together
Much better
So fresh and so clean!

2 weeks & 2 week appointments

This morning Jolee had her 2 week check up.
I planned on getting up 2 hours early to get ready and get the girls ready but apparently that is not enough time to get everyone ready! I thought getting Jaina ready in the mornings was hard but she's a breeze compared to a baby. I forgot what work it really is especially trying to nurse in between everything.
But I know in time it will all get easy again.

We saw Dr. Rai this morning.
She was really nice and I loved her up front honesty about the girls health, so she will be the girls new PC since Jaina's PC moved to another location. I was really worried about Jolee's weight when I took her in this morning. Since I'm nursing I have no idea how much she is really eating. When Jaina was her age I was so confused with the whole nursing thing that we mostly bottled fed her but I did "try" and nurse her for 6 weeks. Both Jolee and I have a better understanding this time around and has come easy for both of us. Jolee will occasionally take a bottle at night or if were out but she curls her nose up at it and usually doesn't even finish 2oz. But when the nurse weighted her she had gained 1lb and 2oz and is up to 8lbs 2oz!! Dr. Rai was really surprised and said that is beyond average for 2 weeks! So I was happy that she's getting fed correctly, lol. She is now 22 inches long as well. Dr. Rai  said her head is a little small in size but nothing to worry about. And over all looks great!
Jolee's belly button cord fell out last might in her night gown but when I looked at it, it was really really gooey and I heard your just suppose to leave it alone instead of put alcohol on it. Dr. Rai had to cauterized her belly button with silver nitrate. She said not to touch it or get it wet. she said the silver nitrate would dry up the goo in her belly button and would fall out over time. before leaving she had to get her heal pricked again and she hardly cried this time. other then that she looks good and doesn't have to come back for 2 months.
Jaina was very content during her sisters appointment and told her I would buy her a toy if she was good. (hey a little bribe every now and then doesn't hurt)
It was really funny because I had walked around the corner with Jolee to get her weighted and measured and when I came back Jaina asked "mommy where did you go", I said "I had to take the baby to get measured", she said "Oh, well did you get a new one", I said "a new what?", she said "did you get a new baby", I busted out laughing and said "no, I'm afraid your stuck with this baby" lol.
While we were at the hospital I stopped in to show my supervisor the baby and talk about moving to a part time position. Justin and I haven't made up our minds just yet on what we are going to do about me working.

As promised we headed over to Target so Jaina could get a toy, a barbie car.
She is all about Barbie these days.
We had lunch and then met Justin up at the hospital for Jolee's plastic surgery appointment.
She had to be seen today for a check up on her ear mold. They took it off and its making progress. She got a new clean one put on and will have to be seen back again in 2 weeks.
She did very well during her appointment but decided to pee all over the table as I was changing her, lol.
Tonight when we got home I tried taking a couple pictures because she turned 2 weeks old today!
At two weeks, she is a little more alert, staying awake more during the day and eating pretty well
Jaina's still not to impressed with her baby sister. She said "mom, all she does is eat and sleep, eat and sleep", lol. Don't worry one day she will drive you nuts!
Jolee is a pretty content baby and I think she likes her bows!
But enough is enough mom. I'm hungry!!
